Ways of connecting the water heating cable to the water supply.
To date, there are three main systems that use a heating cable to bring heat to their pipes, namely:
- The resistive system uses a water heating cable in its work that does not have a self-regulation function. For such a system, there is a constant resistance and when designing the heat supply to the pipe, very precise calculations are required. During operation, a constant monitoring of the heating temperature of the cable is required. Due to the small amount of electricity spent on the operation of a resistive cable, such systems are in demand from buyers.
- Zone heating of pipes occurs at the expense of two, conductors, isolated from each other. A metal spiral is laid on top of these wires, which has a high resistance and, closing it with one or the other, forms parallel "heating" zones, about one meter in length.
- The most effective in terms of protecting pipes from freezing is an organizational self-regulating system. The connected water heating cable of such a system also has two current-carrying veins, but they are covered with a plastic sheath. One of the properties of this material is the dependence of its thermal conductivity on the ambient temperature, and on this basis, self-regulation of the released heat takes place.
Elements for connection to the heating water pipe can be mounted both from the outside and into the inner surface of the pipe.
Installation of water heating cables can be made on one, or several lines, along the outer part of the pipe. Depending on the required heating power, the number of parallel heated sections of the heater is calculated. It is also possible to lay the cable in a spiral, but at the same time it is necessary to adhere to a certain distance between turns.
A heating cable can also be installed inside the water pipe, but in this case the cable insulation must be suitable for passing water through it, which is used for cooking. Due to the more rigid design of this type of cable, it is advisable to mount the installation on straight sections of the water pipe. 
The inner water heater cable is often used by the owners of household plots and farms. They have a water supply system laid open, above the ground and pipes can freeze faster in winter.
Rules for connecting a water heater to a water pipe.
When installing the cable of any heating system for pipes, the following rules must be observed: 
- , the gasket for the water heating cable should be kept below 0 ° C;
- connect the cable to the network for a short time if it has lost its flexibility under the influence of low temperature;
- must check the integrity of all water pipes;
- when laying the cable it must not be allowed to intersect with the sharp edges of the water supply system;
- bend the cable by an amount exceeding the sum of 6 cable diameters;
- after connection, it is necessary to check the insulation resistance of the water heating cable. This value should not be lower than the values on the coupler. To carry out this manipulation, you need to have a megger or multimeter.
The water heating cable can be fixed to the pipe with an aluminum tape, while maintaining a distance of 300mm.between the fasteners. To avoid contact of the cable with the thermal insulation material of the pipe, this tape is laid along the entire length of the heating element. The temperature sensor of the water heating cable is installed in the coldest part of the water pipe.
