For reference, the rotary butterfly valve( without housing) has only four basic elements: a disk, a shaft, an inner bushing and a rubber seal. In fact, a large crane-box, only not in the mixer, but in the pipeline network.
Installation and control of the butterfly valve
The installation diagram of such devices is simple to primitive: the mounting holes of the flanges of the shutter equipment are selected for the geometric parameters and dimensions of the flanges of the supporting pipelines and fixed in the system by means of connecting studs( bolts).The tightness of the locking unit with control valves is provided by rubber seals and metal gaskets.
The very process of regulating the flow in household systems is absolutely primitive: I wanted to reduce the head of the network or completely block the flow, just turn the valve and look at the result. In large diameter pipelines without the installation of a flywheel and a reducer, and in some cases automatic control systems can not be avoided.
By the way, during assembly works and operation of rotary wafer locks there are some more pleasant properties of this design:
- minimum hydraulic resistance of the unit in the open condition;
- providing a limited contact area of the carrier with the structural elements of the stop valves: at high temperatures and in corrosive media this factor is not unimportant;
- tightness of the saddle device of the wafer-type butterfly valve in the closed state practically at any operating conditions.
Features of the use of rotary valves
Wafer type butterfly valves for working diameters of pipelines within 700-1200 mm should be standardized in accordance with GOST 12821-80, but in practice such products are manufactured according to technical specifications, and each manufacturer is free to make technological corrections to the range of its products. On the final quality of the shut-off valves, such anarchy has almost no effect, since the main consumers of this equipment are not private developers, but urban utilities and large industrial enterprises.
