The first type is lifting and sectional structures. They consist of many connected panels that look like a single canvas.
The size of the panels is about one and a half meters, they form sections, therefore they are called sectional. How they look, you can see in the photo.

Sectional panels are made of steel, wood or plastic, and fill them from the inside with a heater - usually polyurethane foam, which helps keep the room warm.
Sectional doors are connected by hinged loops, which hold the panels. They are made of corrosion-resistant materials, which significantly extends the life of the structure.
Such gates are simple and convenient to use, however, they have two significant drawbacks: they are not strong enough, and therefore can be hacked, and their installation by their own hands is complicated - you need to be a professional and have special equipment.

Turn-and-turn garage doors - the second type of system device.

Design The most important thing when you undertake to create a garage door is to choose the correct opening mechanism that will activate them. They can be of two types.
Construction choice
The first type is a swivel-arm design. This is the most popular model of an automatic system. The construction of the structure is very simple - you can see this by looking at the photo, besides it is protected by the sudden blockage of the shield.
The main difficulty will be the installation - it must be accurate, so that the guide profiles are installed strictly vertically and parallel to each other, and the springs are correctly adjusted.
If the mechanism is not installed correctly, then there is a possibility that the shield will jam and the system will not be able to perform its function.
Another variant of the mechanism is the installation of a device using counterweights.
With this type of construction, the cable of the mechanism is fixed from below to the corners of the frame, passed through the unit and ends on the winch pulley, at the end of which the counterweight is installed.
The size and weight of the counterweight depends on the weight of the shield of the structure itself.
If you select this type of mechanism, you must take into account that a large load will be applied to the frame and frame.
It is better to install such a system only if you need large powerful gates, and for garage spaces having a standard size, it is better to use the first type of mechanism.
The next step after the selection of the mechanism is the drawings. To do this, you need to measure the opening and draw a sketch of the future design based on these dimensions.

Stages of work
To create an input structure you will need the following elements:
- wooden beams( section size: 12x8 for a box and 10x10 for a ceiling);
- metal pins;
- corners( section 40х40х4 on rails, 3.5х3.5х0.4 per frame);
- channel bracket( 8x4.3x0.5);
- spring( diameter 3 cm);
- rod made of metal( diameter 8 mm);
- itself is the material from which the construction will be made.
It's better to use the ready-made standard size, becauseit is suitable for almost all garage buildings.
First, take up the collection of the box: you need two vertical and one transverse bar, and connect them with steel plates and angles. From the bottom, the box should be buried 2 cm into the floor screed.
The resulting structure must be secured in the opening using steel pins.
Then you need to connect the elements into the frame of the fabric, after assembly it needs to be shrouded with a shield and covered with sheet iron from the outside.
Now you need a support for the mechanism - it can be made from the corner with your own hands. To do this, in one shelf you need to make a hole with which the structure will be fixed to the posts, and in the other - three holes, where the spring bracket will be inserted.

To make the adjustment plate, you will need an iron strip to connect the bracket to the spring. Pre-bend the spring turns, located at the edges and having the appearance of hooks.
At the very bottom of the design, the voltage regulator needs to be fixed - a bar is used to create it.
To make a corner for the bottom, you will need a corner in which you want to make a hole, the size of which is 8.5 mm.
Then you need to connect the corner with the frame by welding, making an indentation from the bottom of the rib to the middle of the hole - this is necessary so that you can mount the lever for the mechanism.
After installation, a plate is attached to the end of the lever, on which the voltage regulator will be fixed.
To make the gate move, you need rails - they are made from welded corners at the edges, leaving a distance of 5 cm between the top.
Then the finished rail needs to be attached to the plate so that there is a gap of 8 cm between its axis and the lower edge. On the other hand, the channel is fixed to the rail, retracting 12-15 cm.
When you start to install the gate, the main thing to look out forthat the guides are correctly positioned: strictly vertical.
The most complicated works on this end. If you want more light to enter the garage, you can insert elements of light-transmitting material into the door leaf.

For corrosion protection, it is recommended to use a standard antiseptic or impregnation intended for metal.
