Advantages of a decorative fiberboard
Fibreboard sheets are fibers of different types of wood that are pressed together. These fibers are obtained as a result of grinding of woodworking waste. So, eucalyptus trees contain naturally occurring resins, which make the boards durable and fire resistant. Until recently, fiberboard was considered harmful because of the content of formaldehyde resins in them, but the production technology has changed, and this material has become environmentally friendly and harmless to humans.
Decorative fiberboard is great for repairing any premises. In the composition of the material there are hydrophobizators and resins, which significantly increase the service life. The outer side is covered with a layer of glossy melamine laminate or a polymer film. This makes the fiberboard moisture-resistant, heat-resistant, protects the panels from external mechanical influences and enhances resistance to wear.
Modern fiberboard panels have a beautiful appearance. Various manufacturers provide a large selection of panels that simulate brick, wood and stone. Externally, the panels do not differ from the original material and give a solid appearance to the room. Unlike natural wood or stone, decorative fiberboard is much cheaper, which allows you to make an individual design of any room.
Note! The fiberboard is also called pressed cardboard and organolite.
Technical characteristics of the
material Wall panels of fiberboard are produced in the thickness of 10-12 millimeters, the maximum length is 360 centimeters, width is 180 centimeters. In density, they are divided into three types: heavy( density 600-800 kg / m3), medium( 500-600kg / m3) and light( less than 500 kg / m3).
The composition and method of pressing the plates are:
- Insulation( maximum thickness - 25 millimeters, density 250 kg / m3);
- Insulation-finishing( 200 millimeters, 350kg / m3);
- Semi-solid( 8 millimeters, 400-800 kg / m3);
- Solid( 3-6 millimeters, 800-900 kg / m3);
- Superhard( 3 and 1 millimeter, 1000 kg / m3).
The dimensions of the plates range from 100x120 cm to 180x360 cm. Decorative panels with a size finish range from 100x120 cm to 170x270 cm, which makes the installation process much easier.
Important! Before buying the plates, you must first determine their type and conditions of their operation.
Installation of
panels The decorative wallboard panels must be placed for several days in the room where they will be installed before the installation begins. This is necessary for their adaptation to the humidity in the room, which will protect them from deformation.
The methods of their installation depend on the type of panels. There are two variants of fastenings: a groove-groove, in them panels have grooves from two parties, and a groove-tenon in which a deepening only on one side, and with another there is a profile.
Decorative panels of fiberboard, as a rule, are installed on the crate. It is a wooden slats, screwed to the wall at a distance of about 50 cm parallel to each other. They are fixed necessarily perpendicular to the direction of the panels. If in the future it is planned to use panels still somewhere, then it is better to fix them with clamps( special hooks). Important! The lining is fixed only to an even wall.
