Dismantling of brick walls: what can be demolished and what is not.
Dismantling can be performed both for partition walls and for bearing walls. They differ in that, when disassembling the partition, there is no possibility of violation of the integrity of the building and, as a result, the presentation of claims from the relevant authorities. While in place of the dismantled load-bearing wall, a capital support must necessarily be installed, so specialists strongly do not recommend any intervention in supporting structures. Dismantling of walls-partitions, in turn, can be performed with a calm soul, since they do not perform any function other than the separating function.
In order to produce a qualitative disassembly, you need to prepare for it. It must be borne in mind that brick is a rather heavy material and can cause great damage to the floor when it falls. If the repair involves replacing the floor covering, then the fall of the bricks is not a problem, but if the floor does not change, a layer of depreciation is necessarily made. The easiest way is to spread it out of old rags and blankets.
Important! All furniture must also be moved away from the wall being dismantled, since falling bricks and plaster can damage them.
The tool that will be needed in the process of work is a hammer, chisel, puncher and sledge hammer.

Before the old brick wall breaks down, electric wiring is removed from it beforehand. To do this, it must be disconnected from the power supply, as when disassembling increases the risk of rupture of the wires. Also, there is a possibility that the chisel will fall on bare wire. In order not to encounter difficulties with breathing from dust, it is recommended to periodically moisten the dismantled surface.
Note! During work, safety goggles are always worn, as the shards of the plaster can damage the eyes.
After this, skirting boards and platbands are removed. Then you can shoot down the plaster, if it is. To dismantle it is necessary to start with first knock out a few upper bricks at the junction of the ceiling and the partition. For this purpose, strong blows are applied with a sledge hammer on a chisel, the point of which is located between two adjacent bricks, which breaks their connection. Do not need to disassemble the wall in large pieces, you need to remove several bricks.
Repair of partitions
During major overhaul, dismantling is not always required. Often, it is enough to put its surface in order, so that one crack in the brick wall does not entail serious consequences. The main way to eliminate such defects is grouting and strengthening plaster. The mortar for it is made the same as for brick laying - on a cement-sand base. Cement is better to use the brand M 100 .After covering the cracks, you can finish the wall in the usual way: plaster and applying decorative coating.
Sometimes repair of brick walls becomes more difficult. This happens if the wall was seriously damaged, and some bricks crumbled or fell out altogether. In this case, the damaged elements must be dismantled. The surface under them is peeled off, and then new bricks are put on the mortar, which is also desirable to mix on the M 100 cement. After drying, you can continue working with the surface.
Note! Despite the fact that only a few bricks are being replaced, they must be laid according to all the rules of brickwork.
