Layout of

In order to attach a terrace to the house, you must first draw a rough plan. Then, before starting the work, mark the territory and, for clarity, pull the marking ropes through the pegs along the perimeter. The whole area needs to be leveled and covered with gravel.

Since the terrace is usually located at a height of 30-40 cm from the ground level - 5 cm of gravel base is enough. Gravel must be compacted after leveling. This is all the preparation of the base foundation. The base base should serve as a support for the finish base.

The next problem that can arise on the terrace is the sprouting roots of weeds, grasses and shrubs. To control weeds, you can use a special canvas covering, which you need to cover the entire area of the future terrace and press it against the gravel with small stones.

Base

You can take a sidewalk rectangular tile as a support and lay it out a short distance from each other. The first row is laid parallel to the wall, almost right with it with a distance of 10-15 cm between the tiles themselves.

The slabs are spread all over the planned terrace area onto the canvas. On the perimeter of the site, a curb is laid out with mandatory level checking horizontally.

After finishing the tiling, if additional lighting of the outdoor terrace is planned from the outside at this stage of the work, it is possible to conduct lighting cables between the tiles.

Cables can be laid in plastic corrugation, and if there is a possibility of damaging them, it is better in a metal pipe or in a special armored cable. Lighting can be made from below by spotlights, cutting holes in the terrace board. At night, such a terrace will look just great, and thus you can stand out among the neighbors.

Flooring

The next stage of the work is the installation of a finishing base or flooring. There are many options for a terraced board: these can be ordinary boards, composite panels.

The best material for building a wooden terrace with your own hands is a board made of larch. They are most suitable for outdoor use.

Rubber gaskets are installed on square tiles, then lags are laid on them, the horizontal is checked by level.

Treatment of the terraced board

The boards must be treated with antiseptic compounds and laid with a gap left for better ventilation. The boards are screwed to the lags by screws. If the terrace is lower than the door, then you will have to draw a step.

After finishing the laying of the deck, its edges need to be trimmed with an electric jigsaw and decorate the end boards. At the very end of the work, the wooden floor is painted with weatherproof paint or simply processed with Pinotex for wood. On this terrace with their own hands on the dacha is built and ready for use.

Almost the entire building process can be studied on video after the article. The summer terrace, as in the photo, will acquire an original appearance, if you additionally attach a roof, fences or even a small pond or pool.
