The easiest way to do this is by opening the window, but if there is a busy highway behind the window, the construction site is constantly buzzing or severe frosts, it will be necessary to seek the possibility of installing air ventilation in the apartment.
Selecting the

Preparatory work for
Before installing the supply valves, make sure that the ventilation system in the building is functional, since the air flow must only slightly exceed its outflow. To check, it is enough to open the windows and just bring a piece of thin paper about 20 * 3 cm in size to the ventilation grilles by 5-10 cm. With the ventilation working properly, the free end of the paper should almost be pulled into the shaft. Matches and candles for such testing are unacceptable, since a strong fire from the ventilation system, if it is malfunctioning or if flammable gases are present in it, may lead to a fire hazard situation.
If the strip is not attracted to the ventilation hole or is pulled very weakly, it is necessary to clean it before installing the ventilation. Prevention and cleaning of the ventilation system in an apartment building is the responsibility of the management company or the landlord. If this is not possible, for example, ventilation is destroyed during the repair by neighbors, in parallel, you will have to install and exhaust system.
For the effective operation of supply ventilation, doors in a room or other room must not be closed tightly. Between them and the floor should remain a gap of a couple of centimeters. If the design of the entrance door does not provide such a gap, then it is necessary to insert a small ventilation grille at the bottom of the door panel.
Supply air installation

It's important to select the correct installation location. The supply valve is installed between the window and the radiator. If the ventilation valve was sold in assembled form, it is dismantled before installation and the fixing points and holes are marked with an empty housing. On the marked contour, a through hole in the wall is drilled, which must have a slight slope downwards.
A hole is inserted into the hole, previously wrapped in insulation, so that it is flush with the wall from the outside, and the inside protrudes slightly less than a centimeter. Then in the marked places drill holes and insert dowels. Fix the case to the wall, pressing the heater. Next, insert the supplied filters( coal, silencer), collect the housing and fix the external grille. If installed correctly, the airflow is controlled by opening( or turning) the flap.
Now, without opening the windows, you can enjoy the clean air in the room, the lack of dust and noise. The only drawback of passive ventilation is that it can only work if the house is in good general ventilation, otherwise it will be necessary to install an expensive and voluminous system of forced supply and exhaust ventilation.
