To ensure that the heavy, water-filled drum and drum-filled drum does not rock the whole machine, engineers have provided a depreciation system. Its purpose is to extinguish vibrations during the operation of the device. The shock absorbers are attached to the bottom of the tank. Over time, they can lose their elasticity and elasticity. In machines Bosch, LG, Samsung, Indesit, Ardo, Hotpoint Ariston and Beko, this is manifested by increased vibration and the appearance of a squeak and extraneous clatter caused by the impact of the tank on the body of the machine during washing and spinning.

Device

Externally shock absorber looks like a cylinder. In the cylinder there is a rod. It consists of a rod( holder) and a gasket impregnated with a special lubricant of increased friction. Vibration damping occurs due to the movements of the piston. With a sharp tank movement, the piston is immersed inside the cylinder, thereby reducing vibration. Usually in the cylinder there is also a spring, which returns the piston to its original position( it is called "returnable").

Until recently, all the shock absorbers were the same. Today, the technology has moved forward: a spring system has replaced the spring system, which is attached to the top of the tank and provides it with a "suspended" state. Shock absorbers of this type are called "dampers", they are more reliable and better suppress fluctuations.

Causes and symptoms of a fault

Piston and rod inserts are most often subject to wear. These elements provide elasticity to the shock absorber. Sometimes the cylinder wears out. Sometimes, the damper breaks down or bends. Externally, this can be manifested by methodical strikes or frequent malfunctions associated with the engine's flown belts.

In all the circumstances described above, the shock absorber requires repair or replacement.

When damping parts are damaged, it is not recommended to use the equipment, since this minor malfunction can cause much more serious damage to the machine.

Removing and validating

To begin with, make sure that the problem is in the depreciation system.

Remove and remove the dampers from the cabinet of the washing device. In some models, in order to do this, it is enough to put the machine sideways;Access to the shock absorbers will open from the bottom.

For washing equipment of other models in order to provide access to the right parts, the front wall of the case is removed. This procedure is very troublesome.

  1. First, unscrew the fixing bolts( they are on the rear panel) and remove the top cover of the machine. Then, a container for the powder is removed and a panel that protects the drain filter.
  2. Next, unscrew the bolts and remove the control panel located at the top of the unit. Do not hurry! In addition to bolts, the panel is connected to the machine with a lot of wires. Their length allows you to attach the piece somewhere nearby, without detaching it completely.
  3. Now, from the front wall of the machine, remove the cuff and refill it inside the tank.
  4. The final step is to unscrew the bolts fixing the front wall at the top and bottom of the machine. Do not forget to unscrew and lock the door, otherwise the wires coming from it will not allow you to remove the panel completely.(Alternatively, do not unscrew the lock, but try to pull the contacts out of it carefully).
  5. After all these manipulations, access to the shock absorbers will be opened.

To check the damper, remove it from the housing by unscrewing the bolt located at the bottom. Try to press on it with your hand so that you squeeze and unclasp the mechanism. If it barely lends itself - the shock absorber is in working order. If the piston moves without much effort on your part, such a device requires replacement.

How to repair

In theory, with a significant reduction in the ability to absorb vibration, it would be sufficient to replace the inside of the shock absorber or damper worn parts. Most often, the gasket between the piston and the cylinder goes out of order, as a result of which both are noticeably deformed. Of course, the gasket can be replaced by making a similar of dense fabric. It should be borne in mind that if you have done something wrong, the results of the "repair" may adversely affect the operation of the machine as a whole.

Spare parts for repair of such devices do not produce, since replacement of this or that component of the part does not guarantee improvements in the operation of the unit. When problems occur in the work of the depreciation system, professional repairmen advise not to repair individual components of it, but to completely replace them.

How to replace

Spring

Springs allow you to hold the tank on weight and with sudden movements of the mechanism return it to its original position. At each end of such a spring there is a small hook that allows you to attach a metal spiral to the tank and body. The places located next to the fasteners are constantly subject to heavy load, because of which the spring eventually becomes unusable or torn.

The damaged part must be removed before replacing. There are two ways to do this:

  • remove the spring from the top of the housing;
  • from the connection unit located on the tank of the machine.

In the first case, first remove the housing cover. Then, as high as possible, lift the tank and fix it in this position, placing an object under it. Pull the spring in the direction of the tank and detach it using the pliers. It remains to unhook the other end of the part from the body of the machine - and you can move on to the replacement.

If there is not enough space for these actions, you will have to remove all the obstructing parts from the enclosure.

In the second case, it is also necessary to remove the wall located at the top of the housing, maximally raise and fix the tank of the washing machine. While holding the broken spring by hand, a thin screwdriver or other tool, pry and detach the hook, which is responsible for fixing the part to the body of the machine. Then take the spring to the side and remove it from the bottom.

Damper

To replace the worn out damper, first remove it from the body of the machine, as described above. In some models, instead of the mounting bolt in the lower part of the damper, there are pins with snaps made of plastic. To get such a pin, you need to touch the latch and push it inward. If the pin is difficult to give, handle it a little with grease.

In the same way, dismantle the mount that connects the shock absorber to the tank of the washing machine. The new part is installed in the tank in the reverse order.

Shock absorber

Shock absorbers can be fixed in the machine in two ways: vertically or at a certain angle. One end of this part is fixed to the body of the machine, the other is connected to the tank. In the event that the shock absorber is attached using a rod, in order to carry out a replacement, it will be necessary to disassemble most of the washing machine and even extract the tank from it.

Warning!

  • Each specific machine, whether Bosch, LG, Samsung, Indesit, Ardo, Hotpoint Ariston or Beko, - its own type of shock absorbers. It is possible that a number of models are equipped with the same dampers, but the probability of this is low. Therefore, going for the replacement parts, grab the "original" from the house or consult when choosing for qualified help.
  • If only one damper is damaged, it is necessary to change both. Otherwise, the load will be distributed unevenly, and they will fail again.

Shock absorbers Bosch, as a rule, better than, for example. LG.On how to put a Bosch shock absorber on a washing machine LG, described in the following video.

Where to buy

In order not to be mistaken in the choice, it is better to buy replaceable shock absorbers in the service centers. As a rule, such companies not only repair equipment, but also offer quality( original) spare parts. Prices for components there are very affordable, and the range is extremely wide. Another plus of such purchases is the opportunity to consult a qualified expert who will give good advice and help you choose exactly the part that you need.
