What is liquid rubber?

Liquid rubber is a modified emulsion based on bitumen. In order for rubber to harden quickly, a coagulant is usually used, which is an aqueous solution of technical calcium chloride.

The treatment of the roof with liquid rubber is carried out by spraying the emulsion and coagulant, which gives a seamless, uniform coating of the surface, which has the following characteristics:

  • material is homogeneous;
  • waterproof and vapor-proof surface;
  • material possesses high characteristics of resistance to chemical and biological compositions;
  • high resistance to high and low temperatures;
  • does not include components harmful to human health and life, as well as to the environment.

Due to the airless spraying technology of the material, a smooth and smooth surface is obtained, without seams and joints, because of which leakage occurs in most cases. Liquid rubber has high adhesion characteristics to the surface to be coated, and also has elasticity and a long service life( over 20 years).

Important! The application of liquid rubber can be carried out even at negative temperatures, reaching -40 ° C.

Application technology for liquid rubber for roof waterproofing

Liquid rubber is applied with special equipment( RX-27), which makes it possible to quickly and easily cover up to 1 thousand square meters per day. Before starting the application of the material on the surface, it must be cleaned of debris and dirt, make sure that it is strong and stable.

There are some features of the technology of applying liquid rubber:

  • cold application, which does not take much time;
  • the thickness of the layer can be a minimum of 2 mm;
  • simple creation of junctions;
  • reliable adhesion of the material to the application surface;
  • high resistance to abrupt changes in the temperature regime of the environment;
  • such a coating can be repaired;
  • long service life.

It is not difficult to apply the material to the roof surface, it does not require the use of an open flame, and only 2 people can work. When applying liquid rubber, you can not be afraid that the weather will deteriorate. With the material you can work even in the rain.

Description of the characteristics of the roof mastic

Mastic for roof waterproofing is a ready-made emulsion that includes oil bitumen, artificial rubber, filler and various additives. It has high characteristics of elasticity, moisture resistance and heat resistance. The composition of the mastic does not include solvents, it has practically no odor, which makes it possible to use this material inside living quarters.

Mastic has extensive application in the field of waterproofing works. It can be used not only for waterproofing the roof, but also for the treatment of bathrooms, swimming pools, cellars, balconies.

Important! Before applying the mastic, it must be thoroughly mixed and diluted with a primer.

Mastic basically has water and does not contain organic solvents, nevertheless, it is necessary to avoid getting the material on the human skin and eyes. Store the material in a dry and well ventilated place at a temperature of +10 ° C.
