Types of paint brushes
A complete set of paint brushes includes several of their varieties. It is flat, terry, filenochnye, flitsevye, brushes-trimmovki, hand-brushes and brush-maklovitsy. We describe each of them.
- Flat paint brush ( or KP) is designed for surface painting, varnish coating, primer. It has nine sizes - from 35th to 100th, which means the width of the handle. The length of the whole tool can be 21-25 cm. But the main quality indicator is the bristle, which must be stretched and have a conical shape.
- Brush handles ( or paint brush round, KRO, KR, cattle) are designed for priming and dyeing small surfaces. It is better to use them for slowly drying compounds( preferably without volatile solvents). The length of the entire tool can be 20-28 cm. The bristle must also be stretching, with an admixture of synthetic fibers of about 30%.This tool has a high resistance to various aggressive substances.
- Brushing handles ( or KM) are used for painting, washing, whitewashing. Suitable for larger areas than previous ones. They have high resistance to various solvents, hot water and aggressive substances. They are made of natural hair with 30% synthetics.
- Flush brushes ( or KF) are designed to handle already applied layers, that is, smooth out the tracks from the coarser brushes. Can also be used alone( when you need to apply a glossy layer). There are nine sizes of this tool - from 25th to 100th.
- ( or CMA) brush masks are used only for aqueous formulations( that is, for paints and other mixtures diluted with water).Bristles are created from cow's hair and synthetics in a ratio of 50/50.Further flashing when using these tools is not needed.
- The ( or SCT) face-down brushes are designed to create a rough-matt surface, used on only painted surfaces.
- Fillet brushes ( FKF) are also necessary for finishing works, for the creation of panels( narrow strips of paint). Most often, this effect is used at the junction of surfaces that have different colors.
Recommendations on the use of
Before starting the finishing work, check that the paint brush, GOST 10597-87, was of sufficient quality. The bristles should closely adjoin the handle, and the hairs do not fall out. Next, prepare the base of the ceiling or walls. It must be dry and clean. If whitewash is to be carried out, then it is necessary to apply the solution several times. First, towards the window, and then diagonally.
It is important to always hold the tool in a perpendicular position. In order to prevent the composition from getting on the hands and face, you can put on the brush a piece of a cut plastic bottle or half a rubber ball. A semicircle will be created, which will keep the surplus solution. For a more even application of the composition on the surface, a kapron stocking is often worn over the brushes.
When painting walls, the movements are carried out vertically in the direction from the bottom up.
A few words about leaving
For the paint brush, as well as for any other tool, it is necessary to take care of properly. After any composition, it needs to be cleaned, so let's talk about how to remove the most common solutions. The dried paint can be removed by lowering the brush into a container with kerosene, turpentine or ammonia. Glue paint can also be washed with warm water and soda.
Everything is simple enough. Soda is dipped in water, and then a brush is placed there. After this, it should be dried properly. If all of the above methods do not help, then you need to boil the instrument in a detergent solution. And then the hairs of the bristles are separated by some thin object( that is, they are "combed" by them). At the last stage, it should be dried properly.
