Finishing of the facade of a private house rarely does without the use of facing bricks. This material is intended not only to create an individual building exterior, but also improves its energy-saving properties. But to calculate the amount you need to know the varieties of facing bricks and sizes.
Types of facing bricks
There is a misconception that the facing of a house with a brick is only necessary to improve the aesthetic properties. But even with a shallow analysis of the design, it becomes clear that it is practically no different from the building models.
Facing bricks should have the following qualities:
- Longevity. It should not change its technical and operational properties under the influence of weather factors.
- Ease of installation.
- Affordable price.
- Different surface texture from smooth to imitation of natural irregularities.
Currently, there are several types of this finishing material.
Hyperpressed
Dry and semi-dry concrete mixtures were used as a basis for the material of manufacture. To improve energy-saving properties, add lime and clay. After sorting by special forms, the blanks are fed to the pressing line. Thanks to the effect of high pressure, the brick acquires the required properties.
Ceramic
Manufacturing technology and composition are in many respects similar to standard construction models. But the requirements for a perfectly flat surface and mandatory internal voids can only be obtained on high-tech equipment.
Specialists advise choosing products with small holes, as they affect the characteristics of the material. The cost of ceramic bricks is more expensive than hyper-pressed bricks. But the quality of the first is much higher.
Clinker
The oldest technology that has not lost its relevance until now. For the production, special clay compounds are used, which, after giving a certain form, undergo thermal treatment. As a result, products with a homogeneous structure and extremely good performance are obtained.
The only drawback of clinker bricks is the high cost of the product.
For the convenience of calculating the required amount of facing bricks, you can use the size data from the drawing.
But in addition to the standard form, many manufacturers produce a facing material with rounded edges. Their overall dimensions are not regulated and completely depend on the internal requirements of the manufacturer.
