The bearing is an important part of the device of the washing machine. It is a metal washer that serves as a support for the shaft of rotation of the drum. The bearing helps to evenly distribute the load on the drum, so its serviceability is very important for the stable operation of the device. Wear of the bearing in many respects affects the quality of washing, so it is very important to notice signs of breakage in time, and replace the part.
A characteristic signal saying that the bearing is defective is the extraneous noise emitted by the washing machine during operation. As soon as you hear an unusual buzz or tapping, you need to establish the cause immediately. If the case is in the bearing, the broken part must be replaced.
On how to do this without harming the washing machine, read in our today's article.
Tools
To get to the bearing, the stylalkum needs to be almost completely disassembled.
For this you may need the following tools:
- screwdriver set;
- chisel;
- hammer:
- hacksaw;
- pliers and pliers;
- key set;
- hexagon set;
- silicone sealant.
Do not forget also about new spare parts - bearings and seals.
Instructions for removing

- We pull the cuff from the edge of the hatch.
- Squeeze the device, which provides locking the hatch.
- Remove the front panel of the washing machine.
- Remove the back panel of the washing machine.
- Remove the strap from the pulley.
- Detach the wires leading to the heater, having previously photographed their location.
- Disconnect the pipe that connects the pump to the tank.
- We unscrew the two bolts on which the engine is fixed.
- Remove the shock absorbers and springs on which the tank is held.
- Carefully pull out the tank itself.
How do I replace the bearing?
After removing the tank, determine its appearance. Tanks of washing machines can be detachable and not detachable. The detachable tank consists of two halves, connected together by brackets or bolts. In this case, you just need to remove the fasteners. If the tank is one-piece, we saw it on the welded seam with a metal hacksaw.
Then proceed in this order:
- Undo the pulley( wheel) of the drum. We do this with a suitable key or work with a hammer and chisel.
- Loosen the pulley and carefully remove it from the screw.
- With the same tools, trying not to damage the shaft, we knock out the drum from the hatch.
- We find the bearings on the inner and outer parts of the drum. Moving in a circle, we beat out the worn out bearing from the nest.
- We clean the nest from dirt, treat it with sealant or special lubricant.
- We drive a new bearing into the socket and replace the oil seals.
Visually, the entire process of bearing replacement, you can see in the following video instructions for some brands of washing machines.
