The tool

Most of what you need, for sure, you will find at home, because in the standard set of tools each owner always has a place for:

• roulette;
• level;
• pencils;
• drills and drills for it;
• maybe you have a screwdriver.

This list lacks a welding machine, and it is necessary, so if its acquisition is not included in your plans, you will have to borrow somewhere. From the fasteners you will need:

• anchor bolts;
• screws, but you can do with one bolt, if only the wall is not wooden.

Which of these you will use depends on the type you choose, the way the grid is placed, the material of which the house is built, from what the walls were made of.

Methods of placing the lattice

Lattices are placed:

• from the outside. In this case, depending on how the window is installed, the grid is placed between the slopes or directly on the wall plane;
• inside;
• between the panes.

When installing the grilles on the windows, the classical scheme provides for their presence on the outside.

Sometimes, how to strengthen dictate not our desires, but specific circumstances. With their consideration, there are such frequently encountered ways of fixing:

• by welding to the embedded metal elements - pins knocked into the wall, the length of centimeters 12. Outside there is only 50 mm. So grate the grate made by a method of welding. Moreover, the walls should be strong enough. The method is the most reliable, but having installed the grate, remove it for painting or cleaning, you will not be able to. Even in places of fastening, rust sometimes appears;
• fastening to the same elements using hardware. This method is the most popular if you fix a forged lattice;
• use for fixing studs with thread, then it will turn out through. It is mainly used if the house is wooden.

We fix with welding

Let's assume that the grate was purchased as standard: 1.5 meters and a half meter.

• First cut the pins for a length of 0.12 m;
• on the perimeter of the window aperture make a mark, where there will be holes for these embedded parts, applying a grate to it. It is optimal that there are 6 such holes;
• drill holes. The depth of them is slightly larger than the length of the cut inserts;
• apertures of the same diameter are drilled in a frame that surrounds the grate;
• holding the grate on the opening, insert the embedded parts, that is, the pins;
• we take the welding machine and finally fix it.

As you could see, the installation of welded gratings on windows, as well as forged ones, is easy.

Important: Do not forget to protect the window during welding. It is superimposed with sheets of galvanized iron or something else .

Bolting

• The eyes are welded to the frame;
• in the wall drill holes for the diameter of the existing anchor bolts;
• grille is applied to the wall and a bolt is passed through the holes in the prepared holes;
• splines on the bolt heads are bored, then you need a cutter or a cut-off drill, but you can not bore it and the grill will be removable.

Note: if you have a wooden house, then instead of anchor bolts use self-tapping screws.

Through the wall

• We make a hole that passes through the whole wall;
• a grate frame is applied;
• screws are screwed. The end goes inside the room;
• is screwed onto the bolt.

As you know, this room will be visible, which, of course, is a disadvantage of this method. Work to increase if your house is faced with vinyl siding:

• drill holes in the wall very carefully;
• threaded studs are fixed by welding to the grate frame;
• on studs we put on the restraints in the form of bushings, which will guard the siding at the place of docking;
• we fix the construction using nuts.

So you can install metal grilles on the windows outside and inside the room.

Lattices sliding

A special place is occupied by sliding grilles. The cloths of these interesting lattices are assembled as an accordion. Their advantages are as follows:

• in the assembled state, the grid decreases by a quarter of its width;
• window is easy to clean by assembling the grate;
• windows can be opened, which in terms of fire safety is a great advantage;
• grille is aesthetic;
• is available in any color, so it is selected for the overall interior.

• in appearance - this is a common grid, which has pairs of elements located vertically. The width of the element( strip) is 1.8 cm, and the thickness is 0.4 cm;

• if the grid is closed, the verticals are 12 cm apart. Any deviations from this size are undesirable, since the grating will not function properly:

Mounting

Installing the gratings on the windows with your own hands is also possible in this case, for the apparent complexity of the design. Install them:
