Technical characteristics of isospan

Materials Izospan - comfortable and durable films for construction, having a different purpose and application features. They are characterized by high performance characteristics and, depending on the modification, can be used as a moisture, vapor and windproof layer practically at any stage of construction or finishing works.

Wind and waterproof protective membrane films

Membrane films used to protect structural and thermal insulation elements of buildings from weathering, sediment moisture and condensate are made of polypropylene known for its durability, environmental safety and resistance to various aggressive substances and microorganisms. Izospan windproof membranes have several modifications:

  • Isospan A is a single-layer membrane with windproof and moisture-proof properties, it is used for making thermal insulation of walls and roofing for wind and moisture protection of a heater. The outer side of the film is smooth, with water-repellent properties, internal - porous, due to which the removal of moisture from the layer of insulation.
  • Two-layer version - Isospan AM, differs high-strength duplicating layer, which protects the membrane film from damages during installation and operation. Has a high water repellent ability.
  • Modification Isospan AF is a wind and waterproof film with fire protection, made by membrane technology. Fire protection makes it possible to use Isospan AF in light-weight wooden structures, as well as for wind protection of easily combustible heaters.
  • Isospane AS is a three-layer membrane film with increased water-repellent properties. It is allowed to lay directly on the insulation layer, without equipping the ventilation gap.

Hydro and vapor barrier films

Isospan modifications used to protect all building elements from moisture vapor both from the inside and outside of the premises, as well as in interstitial, under roofing ceilings. Made of polypropylene, they have a laminated outer and porous internal surface. Friable structure allows to accumulate condensate, but does not interfere with its further evaporation, due to which the removal of moisture vapor from moisture-intensive structures is achieved and condensation drops appear on them.

  • Isospan B refers to vapor barrier films, it is used to protect walls, partitions, and fiber insulation layers from penetration of water vapor from inside the building. In addition to the vapor barrier properties, they provide protection of internal walls against mold and fungus, dust and insulator particles. Can be used in buildings of any materials.
  • Isospan C has higher hydro and vapor barrier properties, due to which it is used as a moisture barrier film in unheated attic rooms, as under-roof waterproofing and as a moisture-proof substrate for laminate and parquet laying. High mechanical strength makes it possible to use it as a roof waterproofing under metal roofing. Izospan C is able to withstand roof leaks in places of attachment and abutment to structural elements and perfectly protects the rafter system from wetting and condensation.
  • Isospan D is a universal vapor barrier for all structural elements, with very low vapor permeability and high density. Can withstand considerable mechanical forces, including snow load.

Isospan DM is a modification of the universal vapor-protective coating with increased strength, anti-condensation layer and protection against UV radiation. The field of application is much wider than that of Isospan D, it can be used as a temporary covering of the roof and walls during the construction and finishing.

Metallized films

Isospans with a metallized inner layer are represented by several modifications. Their field of application is due to the property of reflecting infrared radiation, which, in addition to the vapor and moisture-proof properties, they provide additional insulation of the premises.

  • Waterproofing film with metallized reflective layer Izospan FB is designed for internal protection of steam rooms of baths, saunas, other rooms with increased temperature, as well as for protection against moisture and condensation of heated under roofs, attics, wall partitions and ceilings. As a reflective layer, a metallized lavsan canvas is used.
  • Isospan FD - polypropylene film with metallization, the field of application - protection of roofing and wall structures from wind, moisture outside the room, and from the condensation of internal vapors. Can be used as an infrared screen. Has increased tensile strength, withstands significant mechanical stress.
  • Modification Isospan FS is used as a vapor and waterproofing of various structures, and also as an additional heat-reflecting layer for interior decoration. Has a lower density, respectively, a lower price.

Isospan FX is a modification recommended by the manufacturer as a substrate for infrared warm floors. It can also be used for waterproofing walls, roofs, floors.
