RD 34.20.185-94: status for 2019, download PDF, description

The full title of the document RD 34.20.185-94: "Instructions for the design of urban electrical networks." Document status - acting. It was put into effect in 1995, and its status for 2019 has not lost its relevance. Until 1995, VSN 97-83 operated, which was later replaced by the current version of the current document.

The document is relevant for urban electrical networks that are being built or reconstructed for the first time. Is the status of the document valid for the electric networks of urban-type settlements? Yes, it is valid for electrical networks up to and above 1000 V. This also applies to the networks of detached objects that are located in the city. For electrical networks inside buildings or enterprises that are located within the city, this working documentation does not apply.

The calculation of the electrical load differs depending on the type of object:

  • residential premises;
  • public premises;
  • distribution lines up to 1000 V in mixed type of premises.

The document provides for a separate section for calculating the electrical load in residential premises. The design electrical load of a building with internal electrical water heating and heating is determined according to the general design of the internal electrical equipment of the building. It all depends on the parameters of the devices that are installed in the room, and on how they work. Electricity, in this case, is counted in a separate meter. Table 2.1.1 specifies the specific design electrical load of electrical appliances in apartments.

As for the calculation of the electrical load in public buildings, table 2.2.1 shows the calculation of the specific electrical load depending on the type of public buildings. In a mixed type of structures, the electrical load of the line up to 1000 V is calculated according to a certain formula. A separate chapter (2.3) is highlighted in the document, in which this calculation is described in detail. In the same section there is table 2.3.1, which indicates the coefficients of participation in the load of the minimum value.

Three annexes are provided at the end of the document. Two of them are required and one is recommended. The first appendix provides the basic definitions found in the documentation. In the second first appendix, the categories of electrical consumers are indicated and what belongs to them. And in the third, a list of regulatory documents is provided that is used in the design of a city power grid.
