Modern gas columns are divided into types depending on the way they are switched on. One of the most common options for ignition of such equipment is piezo ignition. They are available, reliable and convenient enough to use, if you know how to properly include them.
How does it work?
Inside the apparatus with piezo spark, there is a pilot burner, which functions continuously. Its combustion heats the thermocouple, which is responsible for opening the gas solenoid valve. As soon as the igniter goes out, the thermocouple cools and the gas stops coming into the equipment. To restart the column, again, light the pilot burner.
Ignition occurs due to the formation of a spark from the piezoelectric element. When the user opens the tap, the igniter ignites the main burner, which starts heating the water in the heat exchanger.
Features of the

- The safety of the column is controlled by a thermocouple, which fixes the presence of a flame. If the flame goes out, gas will not flow into the equipment.

How do I enable a piezo-spark column?
The first switching on of the column of this type must be done manually by pressing two buttons - the first is responsible for the gas supply, and the second is represented by the piezoelectric element. Clamp the gas start button until the wick burns without your effort( approximately 15-30 seconds).During this time, the thermocouple will heat up and begin to produce a current, keeping the gas valve open.
Then you can release the button and open the hot water tap. At the same time through the inspection window you will notice how the main burner will light up. When the tap is closed, the flame of the main burner will go out and only the igniter remains. If you disable it, you must press the piezo-ignition and gas-supply buttons again to re-ignite.
