The most popular styling in the kitchen and in the bathroom is the tile. It is very resistant to moisture and pollution, but has the main drawback - it is cold. The best solution to this problem will be warm floors under the tile. They will create coziness and comfort in the house.

There are three main types of warm floors: electric, water and infrared.

Warm electrical floor

There are two ways of laying a warm electric floor: electric heating mats or heating sections. Under the ceramic tile, the first and second versions are suitable. The advantages of heating mats include ease of installation and the ability to save space, the disadvantages are that above the surface where this heating system is installed, furniture is not recommended, and installation of the system should be carried out in an open space. Heating sections are economical and capable of accumulating heat, but suitable for those who have time to dry the concrete screed.

Installation and installation of heating mats:

1. It is necessary to consider where the heating mats will be located, so as not to place them in places where furniture will stand.

2. The floor is prepared: garbage is removed, if necessary, the floor is leveled.

3. In order not to lose heat, the thermal insulation material is laid and the basis for the tile covering is a cement screed.

4.On a well-thought-out scheme, the heating mats are laid: this material must be rolled up and rolled over the floor surface. Then it is connected to the network and the thermostat is installed.

6. With tile glue( no more than 7mm), tiles are laid.

The floor can be used after the tile adhesive has completely dried( at least 20 days).

Installation and installation of heating sections is carried out in the same way as heating mats, only in a cement-sand screed.

Water heat floor

This method is suitable for large houses. For apartments it is not advisable to use this kind of heating - in the central heating system the hydraulic resistance increases, and hot water that passes through the warm floor gets into the system already cold.

With this method of heating the floors, the air is warmed evenly in the room. It can be used as basic heating. The water-heated floor does not require maintenance.

Installation and installation of a water-heated floor:

Installation of a water-heated floor takes place in the same sequence as an electrical one, and requires the pouring of a concrete screed.

1. Initial work on floor preparation is being carried out.

2.The leveling floor screed is manufactured.

3.When the concrete layer has dried, the insulation is laid, mainly using expanded polystyrene.

4. The installation of the pipeline is made, differentiate in several ways: spirally, spirally with the center shift, parallel( snake) and meander( double snake).When choosing a method, it is necessary to take into account heat loss and room dimensions. The length of the pipe should not be more than 100 m. The pipeline is connected to the mixing unit. The system operation is checked.

5. The screed is applied, then leveled according to pre-set marks. The screed should be poured at room temperature.

6. When the concrete has dried, tiles are laid.

Infrared film floor

Heating occurs by means of infrared radiation, which has a beneficial effect on the human body, since human radiation is in the same wavelength range. The air in the room will be fresh and clean.

Distinguish film floors with different heating parameters and the size of the canvas. If it is necessary to insulate a large room, it is better to use linens in width from 1 m.

Infrared film floor does not occupy the whole area of the room( about 75%), as it is covered only in places where furniture is not worth. Therefore, it is necessary to calculate the area of the surface to be coated in advance.

The main advantage of this method of floor heating is its ability to heat up quickly, as well as its small thickness.

Installation of the infrared film floor does not require much effort, if not violate the basic rules:

  • - wiring diagrams;
  • - correctly calculate the area of the room;
  • - use materials intended only for the device of a warm floor;
  • - apply the technology of laying steam and heat insulation;
  • - when pouring screeds apply solutions intended only for warm floors;
  • - as a final coating, use materials with good thermal conductivity.

It is forbidden to install heat film at minus temperature, and also to coat warm floors with natural woven carpet covers.

Installation and installation of infrared film floor:

1. A surface is prepared - it must be clean, flat and dry. The marking under the film, the primer is made, the foil substrate is laid with strips of foil upward. The length of the strips should coincide with the length of the room, and it is possible to cut only in those places where there is no graphite layer.

2. The film is a vapor barrier, the edges of the material are cut off and isolated.

3. The temperature sensor is placed under the film and fixed with adhesive tape.

4. The cable is placed under the tile, the film floor is fixed with adhesive tape to the substrate. \

5. The thermoregulator installation is located permanently near the electrical wiring.

6. The wiring is laid, the connection to the network is parallel. To connect correctly, you need to use cables of two colors.

7. The thermostat is connected to the network( check the operation of the entire system).Next time, the infrared film can be turned on after the screed is completely dry.

8. The screed is laid under the tile. There are two options: "wet" screed and "dry".The first option is suitable for large irregularities. This screed is not afraid of moisture. It is used with mounting reinforcing metal mesh. The grid is attached with dowels to the rough floor. The solution should be designed for pouring the warm floor. Unlike the "wet" screed, "dry" can not crack. But with humidity, it can swell, so it is not recommended to use it in a bathroom or other wet room. Using this option, the roughing floor is leveled, then sheets of gypsum fiber sheet are laid.

9.Table glue is applied.

10.The tiles are laid. When using a "dry" screed, the tiles are laid in a day.

After full drying of the screed( 20-30 days), it is possible to exploit the warm floor.

Which one is better?

When choosing a floor heating system, you need to take into account the technical characteristics and costs, as well as the conditions in which the heating system will be installed and operated.

The main advantages of a warm electric floor are uniform heat distribution, long service life and versatility. It is easy to install and use, the installation costs will be lower than the water-heated floor, but the operation is more expensive. Installing a water-heated floor takes a little more trouble than an electric one, but less operating costs. The disadvantage of the water floor is the increase in the thickness of the floor.
