• latex and other compounds.

Their main feature and advantage is the ability to dry quickly, practically do not emit a smell, lie flat on the surface and cover it without stains and errors.

In order not to complicate life by choosing a color, designers recommend acquiring white paint and color tint. In this case, you can create your own shades that are pleasing to the eye, personal sensations and are ideal for the interior.

Despite the smooth, even surface of the drywall sheets, minor defects can occur during installation, which are difficult to hide behind the plaster. When choosing a color coating, it is important to consider this point and buy a matte paint. It, unlike glossy, perfectly conceals small flaws.

Drywall preparation for painting

When installing drywall sheets, joints and depressions form from screwing in screws. They must be masked. For this, putty or plaster is used, prepared from a dry mix or prepared.

• First, the entire area of ​​the walls is covered with a primer.

• Then close the joints between the sheets. A thin layer of prepared composition is applied. A special mesh tape is applied from above. It reinforces the seam and prevents further cracks from forming. Especially carefully should be plastered the joint of the wall and ceiling, trying to maintain an ideal angle.

• Then, using a wide spatula, an even thin layer is coated over the entire area of ​​plasterboard sheets to be painted. This is necessary to hide the places of their fastenings to concrete or wooden surfaces.

• In the end, use the primer again. It and plaster will not allow the paint to soak into the cardboard base.

Important! At the stage of preparing plasterboard sheets for painting, plaster is used. When choosing a tinted paint, they check how it will fall on this coating. For this, a small fragment of the plastered cardboard surface is covered with a pigment composition. After 2-3 days, it will become clear what color the walls in the room will be with this version of the composition.

Staining process

Painting walls and ceilings from gypsum plasterboard can be done with various devices: a roller, brush or spray gun. Each DIY repairman chooses the most convenient method for himself.

• When painting the walls with a roller, a tool with an average terry pile and a wide brush with soft bristles are taken. With its help, corners and hard-to-reach areas of the room are covered with colored composition, for example, behind a heating radiator. In order not to stain the ceiling, masking tape is glued over it and freely lead with a brush. At the end, the protection is carefully removed.
• After painting the hard areas with a brush, a roller is taken in hand. It is lowered into a paint tray and rolled several times on a ribbed surface to remove excess liquid. Painting starts from the window at the height of the middle of the wall. Apply the paint linearly: first roll one strip from top to bottom until a uniform layer, then wet the roller and paint the next strip, going a little on the first. It is important to achieve the same layer and texture. It is advisable to periodically step aside and see if the paint is evenly applied.

Most modern paints have excellent hiding power, so it is enough one staining to drywall sheets acquired the desired color.

• Painting the walls with your own hands with the help of a spray gun allows you to achieve the most even coating. During its operation, the composition is applied by spraying. This is a very convenient and efficient device. When using it, an excellent result is obtained. In the process of staining, they drive them at a small distance from the surface, gradually covering the entire area to be painted. The disadvantage of using a spray gun is to create many sprays that spread to other surfaces.
