1 When building your house without scaffolding is not enough. They are also needed when laying walls, and when decorating them, will be useful in roofing and installing a drainage system. Reliability is the main requirement for forests, because it is on it that the safety of builders depends.

If possible, it is worth to rent industrial scaffolding. But if the building is stretched for a long time, or the finances are very limited, the forests can be made with their own hands. Their design is simple, because for private construction it is rare that forests with a height of more than two floors are required.

To heavily load self-made forests all the same it is not necessary, the maximum of people working for them - two.

Types of scaffolding and their features

Scaffolds can be completely wooden or consisting of metal pipes and boards. The first is cheaper and easier to assemble, but can withstand less weight. The second will require a lot of money and time for the construction, but can be used longer, sorted out and rebuilt if necessary. There are 4 types of forests, depending on the design and the fixtures used.

  • Clamps are the most difficult to assemble, but can have a variety of configurations, suitable for working on buildings with a variety of architectures.
  • Wedge scaffolds are capable of supporting more weight.
  • The whip wood is quickly disassembled and assembled.
  • Frame forests are economical in construction and light weight, they are able to withstand weight up to 200 kg per square meter of their surface. The maximum height is 50 m. Most suitable for self-assembly and use in individual construction.




Design features and materials

Frame scaffolding is erected from steel racks and frames, the flooring is made of wood. Aluminum designs have less weight, but the load is able to withstand less. Recommended parameters for one section:

  • height - 150 cm,
  • width - 100 cm,
  • length - 165-200 cm.

The number of sections depends on the height of the house and the length of its walls.

For work you need to stock up on materials. You will need:

  • profile with a square section of 3 * 3 cm, length 150 cm for vertical racks,
  • pipe with a diameter of 15 mm for diagonal and horizontal struts,
  • profile with a square section of 2.5 * 2.5 cm for connecting inserts, which will beto support the flooring, and fencing,
  • boards 4-5 cm thick and 2-2.5 m long for flooring,
  • ladder for lifting( can be used ready, or can be assembled from the profile between the side racks).
  • Bolts with washers and nuts for connecting elements, self-tapping screws for fastening boards.
Tools require a hacksaw for metal or a Bulgarian, a drill with a drill for metal, a welding machine. Connections can also be made using special threaded fasteners.

Construction of wood from pipes and boards

The preparatory stage before the assembly of building scaffolds is that the land where they will stand is well tamped. So the whole design will stand more securely. If the construction works are carried out in rainy season, then it is possible to provide for a drainage system so that the land under the forests is not washed out. In the places of support are placed boards for greater stability.

Important! Even a slight backlash in the joints or insufficiently threaded thread can lead to the destruction of forests and injuries.

First cut the profile and pipes. The pipe is cut into 200 cm blanks for diagonal struts and 96 for horizontal struts, which will join the sides. They are incised from the ends to 7-8 cm and flattened. In these places they will then connect to the profile.

Vertical racks are connected by sections of the profile, making sure that they are located strictly horizontally. Then the horizontal sections of the forest are joined by screeds on which the boards will be laid, welding them every 30 cm. Bolt holes are drilled on the struts and spacers. Expose the racks on the level and fix the spacers on them.

To connect several sections of the forest using adapters. They can be done independently. Cut 8-10 cm profile section of 3 * 3 cm, pass into it sections of the profile section 2.5 * 2.5 cm and connect them by welding.

On horizontal screeds lay the boards and fix them with screws. For protection against corrosion, scaffolds can be painted.
