Luck variety appeared in the 80s of the twentieth century in the Moscow Region Research Institute of Potato, bearing the name of Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Soviet breeder, Professor Alexander Lorch.

Starting to plant new potatoes, breeders set themselves the task of obtaining root crops that would easily adapt to different growing conditions. The initial forms for the creation were Vilnia and Anoka.

In November 1989, the institute submitted an application to the State Commission of the Russian Federation for the testing and protection of selection achievements. on the admission of the root crop to the test, and in 1994 Luck took an honorable place in the State Register among the tested varieties potatoes.

It is recommended to grow it practically throughout the country, from the South-West to the Far East, in such regions like the Volga-Vyatka and Middle Volga, Central and Central Black Earth, Ural and North Caucasian.

“Luck” is white, NOT loose, i.e. it is better to fry, for cooking we take pink varieties.

Variety "Luck" stopped planting. So a fruitful variety. But the taste is bad. Suitable as a feed grade.

And I have “Luck” in my favorites! The third year I plant it, fruitful, tasty (for my taste), it is stored perfectly! “Luck” during storage from the end of August until June / July of the next year does not germinate, it remains solid and fresh. True, we store all the potatoes in a real village cellar.

I really like the potato variety Luck, I bought it in the store "Garden" and did not regret it, choice really turned out to be successful, the potatoes are even and very early, we start digging it for food already in the 20s June dates.

Most reviews about the variety Luck are positive. Potato justifies the characteristics that were shown during variety testing. However, there are those who did not really like him. The Luck variety is easy to grow even for a novice gardener in order to form his own opinion about it.
