A lot of construction crews are engaged in the insulation of balconies and loggias, but the average owner can do it in his own way, observing the requirements and technology. For this you need 4 components:
- loggia;
- desire;
- tools;
- material.
Stages of insulation
We offer step-by-step instruction for the insulation of the loggia with photos, by means of which any man with elementary applied skills of tools can "dress" his additional square meters:
1. First you need to decide on the materials. Perhaps 2 options: warming the loggia with foam or polystyrene foam. Still need a moisture-resistant gypsum board or any other material that is resistant to moisture for final finishing. Also need a dry mix for floor pouring, foil foil, "summer" mounting foam, wooden beams, metal scotch, plastic dowels, screws and polyurethane glue. The advantages of each of the materials and the calculation of their quantity is a separate topic.
2. To a ceiling we fasten plates of a heater with the help plastic dowels with a wide hat. Consider the option where the window units are already installed, and in the absence of these, it is necessary to seal the slits with mounting foam. Sidewalls of the loggia are sewn in the same way. Joints in the corners are treated with a "summer" mounting foam without toluene, which dissolves the foam polystyrene. Joints between plates on the front surfaces are glued with adhesive tape.
3. On the floor a screed is made of expanded clay or a conventional cement-sand mixture. After hardening, the same slabs are laid as on the walls. Some masters recommend the work to begin with the preparation of the floor, leaving a tightening gap between the screed and the wall, into which the foam plastic is then inserted from the wall. However, we recommend a different sequence of warming the loggia, since the left slot may turn out to be less than required.
4. On the already attached plates we sew a foil foil, which will serve as a vapor barrier and thermo-reflective layer at the same time. It is attached with polyurethane glue. And its joints, in turn, are sealed with a metallic tape. All the same is done on the floor. In the end, we should be inside such a kind of "thermos".
5. The last stage before the final decoration with plastic panels, lining or gypsum cardboard for painting( pasting wallpaper) is a stripe of a wooden beam. The cladding is performed using self-tapping screws and conventional dowels.
6. Before sewing with the final material of the wall, it is necessary to lay electrical wiring with the marking of the prospective power points. Next, the walls are sewn up, the floor is laid with a laminate. If you plan to lay tiles, then it is done in the reverse order: the floor, and then the walls.
