Many buyers of the column doubt whether it is possible to place it in the bathroom,that this is not recommended. Indeed, if earlier( in the homes of the 60s) the gas service installed the apparatus in the bathroom, in recent years, it insisted on installing the column only in the kitchen. However, the ban on the installation of columns in the bathroom was prescribed in the Code of Rules in force until 2003.

It's easiest to install a column in a place where such a device has already been installed. It is important to purchase a certified device, then contact the Housing and Utilities Service for a copy of the project of your apartment, where water and gas supply, smoke removal, the location of the column and its technical characteristics are noted. Next, you need to apply to the gas service to replace the column with the location of the installation. It also requires a separate application for repair work on the gas main.

If you are first installing a column in a building or are going to change its location, prepare such documents:

1. Act on the state of the chimney. Such a document is compiled and certified by the service that controls the smoke and ventilation channels.
2. Technical passport of the column.
3. Application of the owner of the housing for the reconstruction of the apartment. It should be submitted to the city administration.
4. Installation project, which is performed in GORGAZ.
5. Application for work by GORGAZ.

Once the permit is received, the gas service will insert a tie into the gas pipe and deliver the counter. Separately pay attention to the installation of water. Hanging the column in place, lined with incombustible materials, the gasman must set up and start the device, then put the gas meter on the seal.

In addition, the owner is issued with acts:

• From the fire department.
• On the reception of the device in operation.
• From technical supervision.

The place where the column will be installed is selected with an eye to the arrangement of the hood and compliance with other standards, as well as taking into account the communication and ease of use.

There are such requirements:

• The room for the location of the gas water heater should be non-residential, have an area of ​​at least 7.5 m2 and a ceiling height of at least two meters.
• Indoors, it is important to ensure adequate ventilation( requires a window).
• The pressure in the pipes of the water supply must be from 0.1 atm.
• Installation should be carried out on a fireproof wall of concrete or brick, then surface insulation is not needed. If it is carried out on a hard-to-fire wall, then a 3 to 5-mm thick basalt heat-insulating cardboard can be used to wall the wall to render it non-combustible, and a 0.8-1 mm thick galvanized sheet. At the same time, the insulating material should extend beyond the boundaries of the column by at least 100 mm from all sides.
• On walls of wood or walls with an inflammable coating, the installation of columns is prohibited.
• The side panel of the machine should be located no closer than 15 cm from the wall.
• The front of the device must have a clear space( minimum 60 cm).
• The minimum distance from the column to the gas stove is 10 cm.
• Flexible hoses or metal pipes with an internal diameter of 13 mm and a length of up to 2.5 m should be used to supply water and gas.
• A shut-off valve must be installed on the column before installation.
• The chimney intake duct must have a circumference of 120 mm in diameter.
• The diameter of the gas escaping from the pipe column should be from 110 mm, and the length from 300 mm to 2 m. In addition, the pipe is placed with a gradient upwards of at least 2 degrees.

• Use in apartments to divert combustion products from the corrugated chimney column made of aluminum is not permitted.
• The crane, which blocks the flow of gas into the column, is mounted next to the unit. He should have a yellow pen.
• If you want to hide the gas column behind the decorative panels, they should be easily removed and made of non-flammable material.

When assembling a column in the kitchen, homeowners often reflect on how to hide the device from the eyes, but doubt whether it is allowed to cover such a device with furniture.

A good choice for a private home is corrugated pipes made of multi-layer aluminum. A steel wire is installed inside the pipe to give the chimney a shape. In urban apartments instead of corrugated chimney use steel pipes, covered with white enamel, resistant to heat, as well as galvanized steel pipes. For a private house this is less preferable option due to the formation of a large amount of condensate in a steel pipe and a high probability of icing in the winter.
