Dancing house is related to the sights of Prague, they are admired by thousands of tourists every day, admiring the unusual shape of the building located across the road from the Vltava River. Its form The dancing house owes the world-famous dance duet - Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire. Residents of the Czech Republic often call the dancing house a "drunken house" or "Ginger and Fred."

The history of the building began with the fact that as early as in 1945, as a result of a raid by US aviation, the building that stood in place of the current Dancing House was completely demolished. After that almost half a century there was an empty place.

Building Dancing house in Prague started thanks to Czech President Vaclav Havel. The fact is that next to the empty place was a house that his grandfather built in 1905, and since this house was later nationalized, and the president's family lived for about a hundred years, he left the vacant place next to the former property of the Havel familyafter the destroyed building was impossible.

Vaclav Havel commissioned the construction of the Dancing House to the Czech architect Vlado Milunich, but due to the fact that the owner of the land was the largest insurance company Nationale Niederlanden( today ING), it was decided to attract another architect with a better known name. He became an American Frank Owen Gary, who, together with Vlado Milunich, designed a stunning building, which for a long time became the subject of criticism, because it was radically different from the general architecture of Prague in the Renaissance, Gothic, Rococo, Baroque style. Ultramodern style, striking in the splendor of form, perfectly fitted among the gothic buildings of Prague.

The construction of the Dancing House lasted from 1994 to 1996 and it was completed with the support of President Havel.

Dancing house in Prague consists of two towers - stone and glass. At the top of the stone tower, symbolizing the male figure, is a dome of forged metal and a stainless steel mesh measuring 10x10 mm. The glass tower is an image of a woman dancing in a flared dress. Together they create an amazing composition that attracts the eye.
