The "Basque Health Department Headquarters" in Spanish Ensanche is one of the new buildings built according to the strict rules of the local mayor's office, according to which all modern buildings should maximize the shape of neighboring houses, not be higher than them,does not have penthouses and. .. other, other, other. Therefore, the architects of the young, but already famous company "Coll-Barreu Arquitectos", it was so difficult to fit their unusual creation into the architectural ensemble of the streets Licenciado Poza and Alameda Rekalde, built as far back as 1862.
There are seven floors in the building: two of them have research laboratories;two floors, not separated by overlapping, occupies a conference hall;on the ground floor there is a meeting room and administrative services. All other floors are reserved for offices and archives. Under the building are two parking floors, you can get on an elevator.
The double facade of the building is decided not only by urban requirements. It also protects the building from fires, saves heat and is beautifully protected from noise. Thanks to this, during the construction of the building, conventional air-conditioners were not used, which relieves people working in the Department of Health from the need to breathe recycled air.
Despite the apparent complexity of the facade, the broken line of its lines does not in any way affect the sensations of those inside the building. Just the opposite - exactly that the façade is made almost entirely of glass, allows all those who work or undergo examinations at the Headquarters of the Basque Health Department not to lose their connection with the surrounding city, not only contemplating its landscapes through glass walls, but alsoremaining a part of it.
