The procedure for erecting a fence of polycarbonate is extremely simple. It looks like this:

Choose the material

With many of its clear advantages, polycarbonate has one very big drawback - high cost. Therefore, before going to a specialized store for the purchase of material for fencing, we perform the most accurate calculation. To do this, measure the perimeter of our site and determine the required length of the fence.

Next, choose the optimal thickness of the fabric. The fence is best constructed from thick sheets. So, for a summer cage perfectly suited cellular polymer. It is characterized by the maximum thickness, has high strength and sound insulation, stably tolerates a variety of loads and serves as long as possible. We expose the remaining angles. In each of them we drive on a peg. We also put pegs around the perimeter of the future fence. We adhere to a step of 1-1.5 m. We separately note the places of installation of intermediate supports. We connect the crocheted landmarks with a rope.

The second step. We begin to install angular and intermediate supports. The recommended step between the pillars is 3 m. At the planned sites, dig or drill pits with a depth of 70-80 cm, fill them with a layer of crushed rock( 10-15 cm is enough), treat the buried part of each support with bituminous waterproofing material, wrap it with a roofing material and install it into the well.

Third step. Align each support. We fix the posts by props( can be made of boards, bricks or other suitable material) and fill the wells with concrete. Leave the supports until the concrete dries completely( up to 4 weeks).

We begin to make a skeleton. To do this, we use a profiled pipe or a metal corner. Also a profile suitable for fixing gypsum board is quite suitable.

The frame has an extremely simple design. To make it, we do the following:

  • we mark on the vertical racks the points for fixing the horizontal crossbeams. We maintain the same step within the range of 60-100 cm;
  • we weld the crossbeams to the posts or we fasten them using self-tapping screws;
  • carefully clean the welds, and after priming and paint the metal elements that are prone to corrosion.

The first step. Cut the sheet material into the desired size. For cutting, a jigsaw is good. We establish a cloth with middle teeth, designed for working with wood.

Important! We leave the factory film on polycarbonate sheets until the work is completed. It will protect the material from accidental scratches and other damages.

The second step. We put on the ends of the sheets special stubs in the form of the letter P.

The third step. We fasten the paneling to the frame using self-tapping screws.

Important! To prevent the material from cracking during installation, pre-drill the fixing holes in it. The diameter of the holes should be 2-3 mm higher than the analogous value of the screw. The gap will be blocked by a sealing nut.

Fixing is performed with a 30-40-centimeter step. Screws do not fully screw. Otherwise, polycarbonate may crack under temperature deformation. Also a small gap( up to 3-5 mm) is left between the sheets and other structural elements. In the future, the gaps can be masked with H-shaped bars.

Fourth step. Remove the protective film and, if desired, we supplement the material with any decorative elements at our discretion.

The fence is ready! Do not forget to look after your fence. All care is reduced to polycarbonate washing as it gets dirty.
