On the way from the tank, the way to the water is blocked by a drain filter - a grating protecting the pump from hitting coins, buttons and other small debris. If foreign objects could not escape into the internal space of the device, the probability of the pump becoming clogged and out of order is high. Then it will have to be repaired, or even replaced at all with a new one.
Causes of malfunctions, their signs and solutions
Among the most common causes of problems with drainage of waste liquid, the masters call the clogging of pipes that discharge water into the sewage system, power failure, mechanical damage and, finally, insufficient engine power.
The most common cause of pump problems is clogging .In this case, it is necessary to clean the internal space of the pump, snail and drain filter.
First of all, disconnect the device. In the lower part of the case there is a small round hatch;place a suitable container under it to drain the remaining water in the machine. Count on the fact that the volume of liquid is at least 1 liter. After opening the hatch, remove the filter and clean it. Then return the grille to its original position, close the hatch and restart the washing machine.
Drain still not working? The reasons are in damage to the pump. Problems can be caused by an electrician: one of the wires may be damaged, resulting in a breakdown of the voltage supply to the pump. In this case, remove the rear wall of the device and visually check the condition of each contact, as well as the reliability of their connection. To find wire breaks, use a tester or other device.

Pay special attention to the state of the snail, carefully cleaning it from plaque and small debris.
Return all parts and components to their places, repeating the course of work in reverse order.

With removal of the front wall( Bosch, Siemens, AEG)
In German equipment, the bottom is securely closed, so it is impossible to get inside from below. Here you have to get to the pump through the front wall of the device.
To do this, first remove a pair of fasteners located on the back of the machine and remove the housing cover. Then the panel covering the valve, which is responsible for the drain, is removed. Be sure to remove any residual liquid from the machine.
Let's move on to the most important step - removing the control panel. Remove the detergent dispenser and unscrew the bolts securing the panel. Be careful not to damage the wires that connect the panel to the housing. Put the device on top of the machine.
Next, switch attention to the cuff. Use a screwdriver to loosen the clamp that secures it, then remove it and thread it into the tank.
Remove the bolts securing the pump, and then remove the remaining fasteners on which the front of the housing is held( they should be searched at the top and bottom of the housing).
When removing the cover, be aware that the manhole lock is still connected by wires to the machine. However, if necessary, these wires can be pulled out.
So, the front wall is removed. Let's move on to replacing the drain pump. Here everything is done in a way that was described in detail above:
- disconnect the pump;
- remove the hose and hose by loosening the clamps that seal the connections;
- disconnect the pump from the snail.
Some machines have a simpler replacement: to disconnect the pump, you just need to turn it from right to left.
