There are a lot of materials for making kitchen facades. All of them have their own features and properties:

  1. Laminated wood-chip. It is obtained by applying a layer of glue and a paper-resin film to a conventional chipboard. Unfortunately, this beautiful and inexpensive material is short-lived because of its low wear resistance.
  2. Plastic. The chipboard is also based on the chipboard, but the coating is more expensive, so it is more reliable, well resists mechanical damage, has a large range of colors, is moisture resistant, but can not be restored after damage.
  3. Tree. These facades are solid and noble. Performed in different styles, are subject to restoration, and repeated, eco-friendly. They are made of birch, oak, walnut, ash, cherry, pear, exotic species. As a finishing patination, varnishing, aging, painting is applied.
  4. Glass. The facade can be glass completely or decorated with glass inserts, decorated with patterns or painted, toned, with a photographed image. Sometimes reinforcing film is glued to the inside on the inside, some manufacturers use unbreakable plexiglass.
  5. Stone. Applied as inserts. These facades look amazing in combination with a stone countertop. The main drawback is that they are very heavy, they require reinforced fastening.
  6. MDF.The service life of this material is at least 6 years. The structure, as well as some characteristics, it resembles natural wood, but much cheaper. In addition, it can not be deformed, environmentally friendly, it holds fasteners well.

  2. Massive - made of natural wood, pre-processed by special technology. Sometimes facades are carved, artificially aged, applying patina, turning kitchen furniture into works of art.

The cheapest among the facades for the kitchen of the array are those made of pine. Expensive, elite facades are made of mahogany, wenge, cedar.

Types of aluminum facades

Facades of this material come in two types:

  1. Solid or slab. They are made from a single sheet of ground aluminum. They are well combined with household appliances, which have chrome surfaces.
  2. Frame is a design consisting of:
  • from the frame;
  • filler;
  • mounting;
  • accessories.

Inserts made of glass, wood, plastic, PVC, MDF, particleboard or a combination thereof are used as a filler material.

Useful to know: Another advantage of the facade of the aluminum profile is that the frame is dismantled, so its filling can be changed.

Facades for kitchen from MDF

patina-all

This group of facades is the most numerous. There are several types of such facades:

  • Veneered - visually the surface is difficult to distinguish from natural wood.
  • Painted - glossy surface, looks perfect in any interior. The product is first primed, then covered with enamel in several layers. The surface of enameled facades from MDF is matte, glossy, silky, pearly, flickering. They do not absorb moisture, but under the influence of ultraviolet rays, the painted surface burns out.
  • Laminated - analog version of the chipboard, covered with PVC film, imitating marble, plastic, wood, metal and other materials. They are relatively inexpensive, but have one unpleasant quality - under the influence of moisture and heated air, the film lags behind the base.
  • Plastic - durable, not afraid of hot air, but the surface is exceptionally smooth - other options are not possible.

Acrylic facades for the kitchen

Liana Mango
The basis of these facades is MDF or particleboard, coated with polymethyl acrylate, which is a plastic, obtained by special technology. The surface is perfectly glossy. The thickness of the acrylic coating is about 0.2 cm, the whole plate is 1.6-1.8 cm. The acrylic facades are made in two versions:

  • is one-sided, when the plate is covered with acrylic only outside;
  • double sided - acrylic coating is present on 2 sides.

These facades are in demand due to a number of positive qualities:

  • surface is perfectly smooth, glossy;
  • resistance to all kinds of deformations high;
  • colors are deep, saturated, resistant to changes under the influence of the environment;
  • heavy metals, carcinogens are absent.

  • chisel with a faceted blade( 30).

Caution: Wood must be dry, maximum 10% humidity allowed. Planks with large knots, resin pockets, cracks, damages by insects are not suitable.

We start all with the measurements and drawing up the project. To open the doors of cabinets properly, you need to accurately calculate the width of the facade. It is equal to the size of the opening plus 1 mm. Further we perform the work on the following technology:

  1. We lay out the boards on a wide flat table, fix and transfer the measurements from the project, marking the cutting lines.
  2. Cut out all the elements.
  3. Grind the workpiece.
  4. We clean the ends using sandpaper.
  5. Fixing holes for fasteners.
  6. Apply antiseptic.
  7. We connect the details, for which we apply glue to the ends of the blanks, level the corners, clamp everything in the clamp until it dries.
  8. We process the facade with stain.
  9. We cover 2-3 times with varnish, each time removing unevenness with fine sandpaper.
  10. We fasten the hinges, fittings, for what:
  • we determine where the hinges will be placed on the walls of the cabinet;
  • note the place of installation of fasteners on the facade;
  • we fasten the hinges to the facade;
  • we insert the door into place and screw it to the body so that when there are no gaps and misalignments left.

Production of paneled facades

To upgrade your kitchen with paneled facades, you will need to purchase a board with a thickness of about 20 mm for a frame and plywood 6 mm thick for panels. The sequence is as follows:

  • we produce a frame, for which we cut 2 vertical and 2 horizontal parts;
  • is made in the elements of the frame from the inside of the groove to a depth of 10 mm and a width of 0.6 cm;
  • we cut out a plywood from a plywood - the internal panel;
  • perform on the horizontal frame elements spikes 0.6 cm wide and 10 mm long;
  • we grind all the elements, incl.spikes and grooves;
  • we put framing on a panel, we force landing;
  • apply glue in grooves, on spikes, ends of panels;
  • we collect the facade, inserting the panel into the grooves of the frame, additionally fix the connections with screws;
  • leave to dry;
  • grind connection sites;
  • apply antiseptic composition;
  • perform the finish;
  • we fasten the hinges, install them in place, mount the fittings.

Facades for the kitchen in an aluminum frame with their own hands

The facade of an aluminum profile combines 2 materials - an aluminum frame and a panel. This tandem prevents deformation, increases durability.

Aluminum-profile-for-façade-kitchen

To make such a facade of our own operate according to this algorithm:

  1. Cut the panel of any material you like, and make its centimeter by 2 more both in length and width. If it is chipboard or MDF, then we paste plastic on top of it, evenly load it from above and let it dry.
  2. Select the aluminum profile of the corresponding section.
  3. We perform trimming considering the thickness of the profile. We measure the profile, at the same time, when it is planned to decorate the corners using decorative corners, the length of the profile is equal to the corresponding size of the edge of the panel. To produce a frame without corners, we cut the blanks longer than the edge of the insert for two thicknesses of the profile. For example, the length of the insert is 500 mm, the thickness of the aluminum frame is 4 mm, then the length of the workpiece is 500 + 8 = 508 mm. It is necessary to join the slats at an angle.
  4. Fasten the profile to the panel with a stapler or small nails.
  5. Cut the plastic insert along the length of the profile, insert it one end into the groove and slide, thus closing the fastener.
  6. In the established part of the frame we insert a decorative corner, cut off the end profile and join the two parts.
  7. In this way we make a complete frame, but we mount the last two parts at the same time so that the corner can be sealed. If there are no corners, we proceed as follows:
  • cut a piece of material intended for insertion, at an angle of 45 degrees;
  • we put on the cut profile, cut off with a saw.
