Partition in the living room - what to do?

There are many different types of partitions, among which the most common are fixed( frame, modular and frameless), transformable( folding and sliding), as well as furniture and mobile( screens) .Choosing the first group, you must decide for yourself whether you really need a partition in the living room, especially if you are attracted by something( for example, reliability) frameless. This option of dividing the space during installation will affect the floor, ceiling, and wall, if it adjoins it, and then to demolish the structure, you will have to partially break the coatings of all surfaces without exception. The frame variant is a construction, for example, from plasterboard fixed on a pre-installed frame, and modular - typical glass panels.

Regarding the transformable space dividers, the interior of the living room with a sliding or folding type partition will not practically change. It only adds a certain element that at a certain moment will divide the room into zones, and, as unnecessary, will be removed. As furniture partitions, floor-to-ceiling racks are usually used, however, and cabinet cases, and not necessarily high ones, are also quite good for zoning. And, at last, mobile dividers of rooms - those can be as island shelves on castors, and usual screens. The latter can carry an element of transformable options, being folded.

Partition of plasterboard in the living room - permanent zoning

It is not difficult to divide the room into parts, it is much more difficult to determine when to choose a fixed partition in which place it should be in order to preserve the integrity of the space. For example, you want to make a working area in the hall. If it should be located at one of the two existing windows, it is enough to attach a small jumper between them, slightly exceeding the total width of the table and the chair being pulled to it, in order to be practically in an isolated zone. It's another matter, if the window is one, and it is necessary to make it so that the light from it falls both into the working "office" and the rest of the room reserved for rest. In this case, it is better to make a partition that can be rounded from two sides.

As a frame, which will hold the partitions of plasterboard in the living room, you can use either wooden bars, or special profiles. It is important that fasteners to the floor and ceiling, and if necessary, also to the walls, be of high quality, since the hall often becomes a place for children's games, and collisions of children with a bridge are inevitable. It is desirable that the frame be filled with cross-bars, horizontal and vertical, as gypsum cardboard is a brittle material, and it is not difficult for to press the partition from it. You can get a rather original design of the living room with a partition of this kind, making it niches or even shelves, in which there is a place for souvenirs and books. By adding all this backlighting, you get a very practical space separator for the zones.

The most simple partition in the hall

You probably have a closet, and not one that was placed in one of the rooms, but the space allocated to it was not very convenient. With the help of this piece of furniture, you can ensure that you have a living room with a partition, and make almost no effort. All you need is to rearrange the bookcase or the wardrobe across the room, divided into zones. The most ideal variant is the rack, and the through type, that is, without the rear wall. With the help of such furniture, you can achieve a division of the room into separate zones, and at the same time leave the common space as one whole, because the opposite side of the hall will be visible through the shelves.

The most interesting solution for the partition is a modular rack that can be reconstructed from time to time, changing the style and design of the room.

Another option is the sideboard, which has a book compartment, as well as drawers that are much more efficient than conventional shelves, where more air is often stored than things. Since the back walls of many models are made of untreated fiberboard, it is better to replace them with more beautiful and durable MDF, and then paint with glossy acrylic paint. Thus, one side will look like an ordinary smooth partition in the hall, and going on the other side, you will see a functional part, next to which you can arrange a work area. And, at last, a case-compartment. It is not necessary to use it as a wardrobe. Today, many pieces of furniture can be changed at will, by arbitrarily moving the shelves located inside and other compartments.
