It would seem that the current market of decoration materials represents a wide variety of different insulation, however, those that are suitable for a log house are not so many. We list some of them.
- Slag and expanded clay have a loose structure, thanks to which they are well suited for filling any irregularities or cracks. Plus, everything is of low cost.
- Ecowool is made from cellulose fibers obtained during recycling of waste paper. The main plus of Ecowools is that when installed, it merges with logs, so a good and dense insulation is created.
- Sawdust or sawdust-pellets are produced by improved technology and have a low cost. They are the most accessible and popular material.
- Foam plastic has a low cost, it is easy. But the insulation of the house from the log is not recommended for making foam plastic. It has a high vapor permeability, because of this there is rotting wood.
- Mineral wool is easy to install, resistant to burning and rotting, and also eliminates the possibility of fungi and mold.
From the above, it can be seen that each material has both advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, the choice depends on your preferences and requirements for isolation. Buy any you can. But whatever material you choose, there are a number of recommendations that will be equally useful in all cases.
The insulation of the walls of the house from inside and outside is done only after 1-2 years of operation at home. The best way to warm the log house is in the summer, when it's sunny and dry outside. The surface is preferably pre-treated with antiseptics and flame retardants( that they are non-combustible and protected from mold and fungus).

- carcass bars( they are chosen according to the width of the insulation);
- hydrobarrier;
- insulation( foam plastic, mineral wool, sawdust, glass wool);
- material for exterior( facade) finishing( siding, lining);
- all kinds of fasteners and materials.
In the process it is important not only to choose the right insulation, but also the way of facing. Specialists do not recommend plastering, as this will result in a reduction in the natural ventilation of the external wall. And, as a consequence, the tree will rot and mold.

technology The most popular today are two ways of insulation and cladding: creating a ventilated facade and facing with stone or brick .The first method involves facing with the help of composite materials, siding, imitation of the beam, block house.
The essence of the first technology boils down to the following: first the walls are treated with a special antiseptic for wood. Then, with the mounting foam, the gaps that appeared when the house is shrunk are eliminated. The surface is fastened with a crate measuring 50x50 mm in steps less than the width of the insulation material. This distance allows the heater to fit tightly between the wall and the crate.
The material is laid from bottom to top. Next, over the heater, a stapler is attached to the hydrobarrier. It performs the function of wind protection, so that air does not circulate inside the insulation. And at the last stage the façade is finished with the material selected earlier. This can be: timber, siding and others.
The second method means facing the facade with decorative stone or brick. The insulation is fixed to the surface using dowels. Further provide for an "air layer"( in order for moisture to escape from the wood).
This layer is created by partially filling vertical joints of the lower masonry( near the eaves of the house and foundation) with cement mortar. At the last stage, the facing is done with the help of brick, concrete or ceramic stone. The lower row of lining should be placed directly on the ledge of the foundation.
