Instructions for the correct preparation of walls for liquid wallpaper

Liquid wallpaper is becoming more popular, but not everyone understands how to prepare the surface before applying them. This is partly due to the fact that there is some confusion in the names. Many believe that this is the same as "decorative plaster."Often, and sellers in the stores of building materials do not see the difference.

And there is a difference - if for decorative plaster the smoothness of the surface is a prerequisite for its preparation, then for liquid wallpaper - no. When preparing walls for liquid wallpaper, one important condition must be taken into account - the uniformity of the wall surface. Why?

Liquid wallpaper is a special mixture consisting of several components. They are all mixed and diluted with water to a thick solution( or liquid plasticine). It is this mass that is applied to the wall. If the color is not uniform, unwanted shades may appear after the application of the wallpaper.

Rules for preparing

Naturally, given the rather high cost of liquid wallpaper, the wall should be aligned as best as possible - for economy. After all, if the wall is uneven, then in the place of the "hollow" the consumption of the mixture will be greater. Than leveling depends on the material of the wall. It can be, for example, either concrete or brick. Therefore, the materials are selected appropriate. It is clear that all the extra nails and screws are removed. However, if some are needed, then they can not be touched - they do not interfere with the application of wallpaper.

After the leveled wall is well dried, it should be thoroughly primed. This is necessary for the fact that then the wall needs to be painted, and best of all in white. If there are no protruding elements of the iron structure on the wall( and, hence, rust spots), then paint over with water-based paint. If to paint with oil or "nitro", then the wall will not "breathe".

If traces of rust appear, then these places have to be painted over with oil paint."Vodoemulsionka" rust does not cover, and it will eventually manifest.

After the drying of the soil, the wall, as already understood, should be painted. It is advisable to stain twice( in two layers). The surface should be absolutely white, without stains and lumens, before applying wallpaper to it. To get the best quality of the painted surface in water emulsion paint, add PVA glue.

Tips

If the wooden surface is to be painted, then it is necessary to secure reliable fixation of all elements, since the tree swells from the moisture and the wall can "lead".

If the surface is of plasterboard, then putty should be especially careful.
