How to choose a pumping station for cottages - an instruction for choice

Before the owners of country houses not connected to the centralized water supply system, there is often a problem related to water supply. And this problem needs to be solved somehow. And even if the water from nearby ponds, obtained with the help of a pump, is suitable for a garden or a kitchen garden, then this option is unacceptable for the home. This requires an individual pumping station, the capacity of which is sufficient not only for regular watering of plants, but also round-the-clock water supply to the house.

We choose the pumping station. What does it consist of?

For the correct selection of the pump station, we first of all need to find out what it consists of: what parts are used for it, and what you need to pay attention to directly when buying a particular model.

So, first we need to make sure that the pump is equipped with a check valve. It is designed to increase the life of the device and maximize its safety during operation. Its main functions include the protection of the pump from the work "idle", in other words, if the supply of water suddenly stops, then it will not draw air in its place.

In such a case, even after the power supply has been cut off, the device is able to function for a certain period of time. Thus, this kind of tank will be a kind of battery. In addition, the air in one of the parts of the tank is designed for water supply. So that she does not get back into the system, a non-return valve is installed. It turns out that the water simply has no other choice, except in the water supply system.

It should be noted that the presence of such a reservoir in the pumping station gives the owner a few indisputable advantages:

1. The service life of the device is increased, as the number of on / off switches is significantly reduced.
2. In the tank there is always a certain supply of water "for a rainy day," from twenty-five to fifty liters, depending on the size of the product. This stock is quite useful for household needs when the supply of electricity stops.
3. In addition, the system produces a certain pressure, which will be enough to conduct water in the kitchen, in the toilet or in the bathroom.
4. Finally, you do not need to equip an additional storage tank in the attic of the house.

The functioning system of the pumping station

This device works quite simply, and it can be explained approximately as follows. First of all, the tank must be filled with water. After that, the device automatically turns off, and instead the standby mode lasts until the second part of the reservoir with air will not have the desired pressure. But in the case when operation is planned only for the winter period of time, the device is installed exclusively in a room where the temperature exceeds the zero mark. Otherwise, the water will simply freeze. By the way, the pipeline running from the source of water to the house should be located below the level at which water freezes, and the well itself, besides, must also be insulated.

If the pump starts to run from the faucet mixed with the ground, then you should not worry. Most likely, the limit in the well is exhausted. In this case, briefly turn off the device so that the water level again reaches the desired level. The end of the hose in any case should be equipped with a check valve, which prevents the return movement of the liquid in the event of a shutdown. But when it is planned to transport water from an open reservoir, for example, lakes or rivers, it is desirable to additionally equip such a valve with special protection.

It should also be noted that when selecting a suitable pump, attention should be paid to the characteristics of the reservoir, in particular, to its reproduction. In order for the device to maintain a permanent pressure in the pipes, the reproduction must be at least 1.7 cubic meters per hour. At the same time, the pump capacity should be high, but the performance in any case is slightly less than that of the water source.

Otherwise, the water flow will exceed its flow. Subsequently, water will come along with the soil, and then completely cease. And, finally, when buying, pay special attention to the depth of the rise of the liquid. If the depth of water in the well does not exceed eight meters, then it is possible to equip the pump station safely. If the depth is greater, it is more advisable to purchase a submersible pump.
