General data

Waterproofing materials roll are necessary for the protection of structures and structural elements from the actions of external factors. They have excellent heat-insulating properties and are perfect for steam insulation and moisture insulation. This material is indispensable for insulation of the under-roof space and for the installation of warm floors.

Waterproofing materials and use cases are quite extensive. Depending on the material of manufacture, they are bituminous, metallic and mineral. According to the method of the device there is a coating of waterproofing, roll, backfilling, pasting, impregnating, injection, cast and mounted.

In comparison with traditional, roll-on roll-on waterproofing makes it possible to handle any type of roof, with any geometry, has a high degree of protection against external factors. It is a bitumen-polymer material applied to a substrate of fiberglass, fiberglass or polyester material. Such a structure in a multitude of layers gives the maximum surface protection.

Important! For qualitative isolation all work must be carried out strictly according to the norms, regardless of the type of material.

The main types of waterproofing

Soft roof provides many opportunities. Due to this bituminous materials are widely used by builders. This is due to the high operational and technical data of the material. Practically all waterproofing is resistant to external factors and at the same time saves its original properties for a long time.

In contrast to the bitumen-based material, the fiberglass-based waterproofing is ten times stronger than the fracture. Bituminous layer has little flexibility and often breaks during rolling. In order to improve the properties of bitumen, during the manufacture, polymer additives are kneaded into it. As a result, bitumen-polymer mixtures and atactic polypropylene are formed.

The first is rubber, and the second is plastic. As a part of bitumen-polymer mixtures, bitumen becomes soft and flexible, which makes it more practical for installation. Thanks to atactic polypropylene, waterproofing acquires increased properties of heat resistance. Rolling materials for waterproofing with bitumen-polymer base are very important for the installation of roofs.

The polymer content in each roll is limited to 12%.This is connected with the fact that in our latitudes the stability of the material is necessary to temperature discontinuities. In this regard, builders use the material in several layers, which further complicates the process of repairing the roof. If the percentage of polymer in the roll is too low, it will also reduce the resistance to frost.

Note! When choosing the material and determining the percentage of polymer content, it is necessary to consult with a specialist.

Fusing of a roll-over waterproofing

For a high-quality and long-lasting insulation service, follow the instructions strictly. Fusing the roll-up waterproofing takes place in the following order:

  • Preparation of the substrate. Thorough cleaning of the surface from dirt and dust;
  • Application of a primer. This is done to improve adhesion, and the primer binds all the fine particles, which makes the base strong. In addition, it moistens the surface, accelerating the process of waterproofing.
  • Drying primer. Depending on the primer, it takes from a few hours to a day. The primer is dried if it ceases to be sticky.
  • Fusing. The bottom surface is fused with a gas burner. In this case, the upper surface is heated. In the process, the roll is rolled out and pressed against the surface.
