The foundation of any gender, even, at first glance, seems to be the most even, always has some irregularities, bulges, roughness, invisible to the human eye. The service life of the floor from the laminate depends largely on how well the substrate is made. After all, the base of the laminate is fiberglass with all its inherent properties. Without laying the substrate under the laminate, it is not possible to avoid deformation of the coating plates, or even simply break them.
Substrates under the laminate come in a variety of materials. Cork and various synthetic materials are used, but the functional purpose of all is the same. The substrate provides sound insulation of the floors, compensates for uneven ground floor, provides additional insulation of the room. In other words, before laying the laminate, you need to create some intermediate layer.
The next step is laying the vapor barrier film. The film should be applied with a thickness of at least 0.2 mm. Stacking the bands is necessary with sufficient overlapping of the bands, that is, the next strip must overlap the previous one. The extreme bands should capture the wall section to a height of approximately 2 cm. It must be remembered that the strip of film should be laid in the direction in which the laminate will be subsequently laid. It should also be borne in mind that it is necessary to leave room for an anti-deformation seam.
When laying the substrate tiles, care should be taken that they are as close as possible to each other. At the joints should be applied adhesive tape to create the necessary tightness - otherwise the quality of insulation will be worse. There is also a compulsory rule: lay the substrate tiles with aluminum foil up, corrugated side - down.
Substrates are very diverse - the difference in the manufacturer, and in the material used, and, of course, in price. When choosing a substrate, you should be guided by the location for which it is intended, where and how it is located. Do not interfere with the purchase and advice of the seller.
