Preliminary Work Stage

Before you can do a drywall with your own hands, you first of all need to carefully consider its design and make a detailed drawing.

For its compilation, it will not be necessary to perform any complicated calculations, but its device must be thought out to the smallest detail.

First of all, you need to transfer all the parameters of the room to a certain scale with the greatest accuracy on a sheet of paper.

Next, the drawing shows the place where the inner wall will be directly mounted.

In the case when several separate partitions will be built during the process, the lines begin with the one to which all the rest will be attached.

Similarly, the front drawing is executed, on which it will be necessary to specify all load-bearing structures. Also at this stage should be provided and all jumpers.

In order to correctly calculate the number of future racks, it is necessary to determine as precisely as possible the expected load that will be applied to the partition during its operation.

It should also be noted that when covering it with sheets of material, it is necessary that their edges are attached to different profiles in the structure of the frame.

Assembling the frame

The installation of the partition construction by one's own hands begins with the marking in the space of the room, according to the preliminary drawn up drawing.

For this, the required distance from the surface of the nearest wall is laid, then the main line is drawn along the floor.

Next, using the plumb and level, the same thing is done on the surface of the ceiling.

After that, all the guide profiles should be prepared for operation, for which a special sealing tape should be applied to one of their sides, after which they are tightly fixed by preliminary marking on the floor and on the ceiling.

Fastening profiles to the surface is best done with dowels and screws.

The rackmount profiles should be mounted directly from the wall, the first of which must be close to its surface.

The mounting of the posts is carried out in the upper and lower part directly to the guides.

In order to increase the soundproofing properties of all profiles, it is recommended to glue them with a sealing tape just before installation.

After the edge racking profiles have been installed and fixed, they move on to installing the others.

Their number is selected based on the assumed load on the partition, and its overall design is also taken into account. Then proceed to the installation of horizontal jumpers.

In this case, it is necessary to take into account the locations of future joints of the material sheets. Also, to impart additional strength to the entire structure of the frame, it is necessary to mount the stiffeners across its entire area.

This will help to give the partition additional stability, and also increase its overall reliability.

Frame carcassing

Before proceeding to the carcass plating, the plasterboard should be marked out and properly cut according to how the drawing indicates it.

From the drywall sheet, which will directly form the butt-corner, the cutting must necessarily be cut off.

Next, drywall should be applied in place in such a way that the untreated edge coincides with the center of the following profile as accurately as possible.

After that, the sheet is tightly fixed with screws with the same pitch, which is recommended to do with a value of twenty-five millimeters.

After this, they proceed to fixing the next sheet of drywall, keeping track of the tightness of all joints.

Very often in such interroom partitions it is necessary to equip the doorway and in this case a certain organization for performing the required work is envisaged.

In general, the installation of the frame under the doorway should be done literally immediately after the guide profiles are installed.

It should be noted that the design of the doorway can be made in an arbitrary shape and different configurations.

For its organization in place, reinforced rackmount profiles are mounted, which are additionally reinforced with stiffening ribs.

Also its reinforcement can be carried out with the help of guide profiles. In any case, the design should be as stable and durable as possible.

Additional recommendations

Partitions made of plasterboard have one significant advantage, namely, due to their design, you can quietly hide various communications and utilities.

In their frame is placed both the water supply system and electrical wiring, and without any effort, while the overall design of this does not change.

It is recommended to lay the communication line at the stage of assembling the frame itself of a general construction.

If a plumbing system is planned for the laying of a water supply system, all pipes should necessarily be insulated with special insulation to prevent condensation from forming in the subsequent.

In turn, the electrical wires are recommended to be laid exclusively in a horizontal position, using a protective corrugation.

These safety measures will help minimize the various risks that can lead to a fire or deformation of the structure.

Also at the stage of assembling the frame, one should also think about laying the insulation and other insulating material.

For this purpose, insulating material must be laid carefully between erected racks, after which it must be fixed.

As a rule, either mineral wool or styrofoam is used as such material.

After the material has been laid and fixed, the frame is sewed with gypsum board in the order that was described above.

If all the work is done correctly and in accordance with the adopted technology, the gypsum board can not be distinguished from the ordinary inner wall.

In any case, the use of drywall for the construction of the partition is the most optimal and profitable option for building an internal wall.
