The second type of construction - the root, when the chimney is mounted on the stove base. Its advantage is security, the drawback is in large dimensions. However, many sauna owners prefer the cramped type, since this option is less expensive and it is easy to mount such a structure without resorting to help from specialists.
The process of installing the iron chimney consists of the following steps:
- Establishment of the base for the chimney
- Arrangement of the internal and attic chimney
- Equipment of the smoke inlet points in the attic and roof
- Design of the upper section of the chimney.
How to install the pipe in the bath - the creation of the
base The chimney flue is fastened to a special tap built into the hearth body. The tap should be made of heat-resistant material. Usually it is a pipe made of cast iron or ceramics, but rather of stainless refractory and acid steel. One end of it is in the furnace zone, the second - above the level of the shell. To this edge of the outlet is attached a section of the chimney that passes inside the steam room.
Most often the steam generator is placed in the extraction zone. This is of no small importance for the reason that not only the products of combustion are removed from the furnace through the escape route, but also the heat necessary for warming up the stones.
An indigenous chimney for a bath looks like a pillar built of bricks or blocks. The branch from the furnace is connected to the chimney with a so-called sleeve. The support for such a construction is the furnace foundation.
The root chimney permeates the entire room from the base to the roof. Independent arrangement of such a chimney is very difficult. This is explained by the laboriousness of brick or block masonry. Also a significant drawback of a brick chimney is that it needs more frequent cleaning.
Arrangement of internal and garret sections of the pipe for the bath
In the process of the equipment of the internal and attic elements, several details must be kept in mind. The internal chimney must be removable and demountable, so it can easily be replaced in case of burnout. Also, the pipe inside the steam room must be multi-layered and consist of a core, a heat insulator and a housing.
The attic section of the smoke channel must be insulated with a heat-resistant thermal insulator, for example, foil-isoil.
For the installation of the internal and attic fume areas, the following operations should be performed step by step:
- In the attic ceiling, make a hole through which the chimney will exit to the attic;
- Through this hole enter the internal section of the chimney, the edge of which must protrude above the level of overlap;
- To equip a node in the attic zone that combines the internal and attic chimney;
- Make a hole in the roof, through which the smoke channel will go out of the building. The conclusion to the roof is best done through the skate;
- Through the hole in the roof, install the attic chimney section and connect it to the node.
Equipment of pipe entry points for bath
The chimney for the bath "cuts" the attic and roof covering. Holes must necessarily be isolated, because through the slits hot air and steam will leave the steam room.
To design an entrance point in the attic ceiling from the side of the steam room, the "window" is closed with a sheet of heat-resistant material with a cutout for the pipe. This sheet is mounted to the overlap with self-tapping screws. Remove from the direction of the attic can be covered with clay.
"Window" in the roof from the inside is closed with the same sheet with a hole for the channel, as in the case with the attic. From the outside, the "window" is closed with the help of a head with a cornice.
At the top of the chimney, outside the building, it is necessary to put on a kind of cap with a protective visor. This will protect the inside of the smoke channel and the opening in the roof from rainfall.
After the design of the entry points in the floors and arrangement of the upper part, the chimney for the bath is considered ready for operation.
