Steam Room Furnaces In order to make self-made bath ovens, it is necessary to have large diameter pipes or sheets of metal, the thickness of which should be at least 8 mm. Pipes are more suitable material for making a furnace, as welding metal is rather difficult.
The diameter of the pipe used should be more than 500 mm. For the next stage, two lengths of 900 mm and 600 mm are useful. From the long part will be made a furnace, an ash-pit and a reservoir, and from a short one - a heating tank for water.
In order to make an ash-bath, a hole is made in the lower part of the pipe section, which is equipped with a small door. The air needed to sustain the fire will go through it.
Above the ashtray there is a furnace, the bottom of which is formed by grates, which stand on supports, welded directly to the pipe. It is also advisable to supply a firebox with a door, the material thickness of which can be 2-3 mm.
Above is the reservoir in which the stones are located. The bottom of the steel is welded to the pipe, a hole is made for it in the chimney. The tube itself is carefully welded to the bottom to prevent smoke from entering the bath room.
Heating water tank
A pipe for heating water consists of a length of 0,6 m, to which the bottom is hermetically sealed and an aperture with a similarly attached chimney is made. This construction is equipped with a lid, which consists of two parts. Also, a tap for tapping hot water is attached to the tank wall.
The finished product is located in a thermae or dressing room. The second option is more convenient for using the furnace itself. It is important to remember that if the walls in the bath are wooden, the distance from them to the stove should be more than 1m. The oven must also be placed on a concrete support.
Self-made bath ovens are the most cost-effective solution for a sauna, since they are the simplest in construction and operation, they have a small cost and a lot of advantages.
