It is not difficult to independently assemble a multi-level ceiling from gypsum board. It is enough to have a little experience and perform all the stages of installation consistently. But you should immediately warn that the lower ceiling levels are marked on the leveled surface. Therefore, if the height of the ceiling in the room is insufficient for leveling with plasterboard, it may be necessary to leave the main ceiling as the upper level, having previously adjusted it with plaster, or by putty.

Ceiling preparation

First, you need to remove the old paint or whitewash from the ceiling. If the panels have been glued, they must be removed and the surface of the ceiling cleaned from the traces of the glue. If there was a tension ceiling, then it is dismantled, all fasteners and other elements are removed.if originally the base of the ceiling curve is to pre-assemble a single-level ceiling.

Top level markup

The markup begins with the horizontal offset. For this, a laser level is used. You can use water, but laser is more convenient and faster.

The device must be placed in the center of the room, turn it on and wait until the beam settles down. Then the laser is directed alternately to the corners of the room, and marks are made on each of the converging walls.

On the received risks horizontal lines are beaten off with the help of a paint cord. It is tightly stretched between the corners, then slightly pulled from the wall and released to produce cotton. As a result, there is a clear trace on the wall. To obtain a basic horizontal, this operation must be repeated on all walls.

Since the first level is leveling, it should be as close as possible to the main ceiling. To determine its location, it is necessary to find the lowest angle, which measures the distance from the ceiling to the base horizontal. Where it is the smallest, there will be the desired angle.

Now, in order to get the first-level ceiling line it is necessary: ​​

• to postpone in the found corner from the ceiling 4-5 cm( thickness of the PP profile plus a gap of 1-2 cm);
• measure the distance from the base horizontal to the mark made on the converging walls;
• to postpone this distance in the remaining corners;
• to connect the received marks, having beaten off a line by a paint cord.

Next, you need to specify the fixing points for the ceiling profiles. To do this:

• on the ceiling along the long wall are placed labels with a pitch of 400-600 mm. Marking should start from the shortest wall in the room;
• marking is done on the second, parallel wall starting from the same side as in the previous step;
• as a result of joining the marks, we obtain parallel lines, along which fixation points of hangers with the step of 700 mm are outlined.

Suspensions are installed perpendicular to the lines using anchor wedges.

When installing a multilevel ceiling, the step between the intermediate profiles of the frame of the first tier should not exceed 400 mm, since it will carry an additional load. In addition, this step makes it possible to install additional mortgages for securing the construction of the second tier.

The next step is the installation of ceiling profiles. They are inserted into the guides of the wall profiles and fastened to the suspensions. To the lower edges of all the PP-profiles were in the same horizontal plane, you can pull the line or use the rack-rule. The top height on the walls is the required height and the guide profiles are fixed. In this case, it is necessary to take into account the thickness of the drywall sheet.

According to the available drawing on the sheets of plasterboard of the upper level, the contour of the lower one is marked. Pre-prepared preforms from the PN profile are attached to these lines. For straight sections - just lengths of the required length. For curvilinear - the profile must be cut and bent to the desired shape. Between the rails are also installed stiffeners.

Now the side walls of the box of the second tier are made. For this, gypsum boards are cut into strips of the required width, taking into account the thickness of the GCR.These bands are fixed on the already established contour. To their free edge from the inside, they are fixed with self-tapping screws of the PN-profile, which, in turn, are connected to the wall guiding additional profiles.

The lower frame is ready. It is sewed with plasterboard as well as the upper tier.
