Life in an apartment building has many inconveniences and limitations, most important of which are neighbors. The worst thing is for tenants of high-rise buildings with thin ceilings, where every knock and word is heard. If you do not want your neighbors to knock on batteries, when you have guests or children decide to play catch-up, you'll have to think about a very good soundproofing of the floor( the noise insulation of the walls is described here). If you do the repair yourself, then this process will not be very difficult.

There is something to choose from - materials

The most successful and simple option is to use "floating" soundproof materials and floor covering. The principle of this technology is that the footboard and cover do not contact the walls, as a result of vibration, they do not transmit sex to the floor, and sound does not spread.

As a "floating" floor covering use a laminate, a parquet board. A thick linoleum with a heater is itself good for absorbing sounds. The soundproofing substrate can be selected in various thicknesses, from 5 mm to several centimeters, depending on the objectives pursued. Thus, a substrate of 2 cm reduces the noise level from below by 21 dB.

The best sound insulation of the floor can be achieved using mats made of basalt( stone) wool. A good and environmentally friendly alternative is the softwood board. Foamed polystyrene also copes with the absorption of sounds, and it is easier to mount it.

A new, but already proven solution - thermo soundproof( TZI) - specially designed for noise insulation, multi-layer, safe and easy to use.

Soundproofing

The most popular soundproof materials of the following manufacturers:

  • URSA - the recognized quality leader,
  • ISOVER - the most economical solutions,
  • Rockwool - materials of various price categories,
  • Shumanet - domestic company.

All companies supply their materials with installation instructions, as the technology can vary.

Minus good sound insulation is that it inevitably eats the height of the room, from 5 cm or more. Plus - additional floor insulation is provided, as all sound insulators have low heat transfer.

soundproofing of the floor

The correct installation is the guarantee of the calmness of the

neighbors. Before installing the soundproofing layer, the old floor covering is removed, the coupler, if it is already in poor condition, is removed and a new one is poured. The surface of the floor must be smooth and clean before installation. The soundproofing technology for laminate, parquet and tile is different.

Wooden and similar floors can be installed on the logs, between which the layer of soundproofing material is placed, the bowl with this method is used basalt cotton wool or polystyrene foam. The logs are chosen so that the layer of material forms an even surface with them. They are placed every 50-60 cm, perpendicular to the future laying of boards or laminate. Sound insulation material is cut so that it densely enters between the lags and is located without gaps. On top of it you can lay one layer of the substrate under the laminate, and only then the floor covering.

If a tile is to be used as a floor covering, a solid foundation is required for it. Sound insulation is carried out using a screed filled with a "floating" method. On the perimeter of the room, a damper tape is attached to the liquid nails with a height slightly higher than the planned screed. The tape will prevent the screed from contacting the walls and, consequently, the spread of sound. It should fit as tightly as possible to the wall. Then a layer of soundproof material is laid out on the floor surface, the cement screed is poured and leveled. When the screeds dry, you can start laying the tiles.

To spend money spent on sound insulation were not wasted, when you install it you need to follow a number of rules.

  • Flooring boards can not be nailed or otherwise rigidly fixed to lags.
  • Plinth is fixed to the wall, not to the floor.
  • The substrate should not be stuck or clotted. Passes and voids can cause the noise level to remain the same.
  • It is not necessary to increase the number of layers recommended by the manufacturer, it is better to buy a material with a high noise absorption coefficient immediately.
