Liquid means for insulation, or liquid ceramic thermal insulation, today is one of the most discussed technologies in construction. And it's not for nothing - the producers assure that with their help it is possible to insulate any surfaces without unnecessary labor and loss of useful space.

How does it work?

As a matter of fact, liquid heaters are a high-tech paint, in the people it is also called "heat paint".It is based on an acrylic binder in which ceramic and / or silicon calibrated microspheres are evenly distributed. The share of microspheres in qualitative grades of heat colors reaches up to 80%.Thanks to these spheres air layers are created, and thermal insulation effect is provided. Special additives, catalysts and fixatives ensure easy and uniform application of this material, its good adhesion and durability. The composition may also include additives to combat metal corrosion or prevent mold.

Specifications

liquid-insulation Liquid insulation has a pasty consistency, close to thick sour cream. It is applied practically to any surface, including concrete, brick, metal, plastic, due to high adhesion. The thickness of one layer is about 1 mm. The resulting coating is light, durable and elastic, withstands sudden temperature changes without the formation of microcracks. It is steam and waterproof, does not burn, does not emit harmful substances. High-quality heat-colors ensure the preservation of heat for 20 years.

In rooms where the walls are treated with ceramic thermal insulation, heat losses are reduced by 25-30%, in the summer coolness remains, and in winter - heat. The thicker the layer, the lower the thermal conductivity of the material, and the warmer it will be in the room. When applying several layers, it is possible to achieve a 2-4 degree rise in the temperature in the room in winter.

The thermal paint is available in white or light gray, but can be tinted( as described here).Increasing frost resistance components allow to carry out external work on the insulation of facades to -25 degrees.

Liquid heaters can be used for

  • thermal insulation of building facades, including complex architectural forms, balconies, panel joints,
  • internal works, when the thickness of insulation is critical,
  • treatment of freezing floors and ceilings, cellars,
  • protection of window and door slopes,
  • insulationmetal roofs, garages, collectors, auxiliary facilities,
  • insulation piping, both cold and hot
  • anti condensation.

Advantages and Disadvantages of

Liquid heaters in the construction market are present relatively recently, but professionals have already managed to add their opinions about them. Having analyzed many reviews, it is possible to single out the main advantages and disadvantages of this material.

Pros

  • Simplicity of application - the usual brush is used.
  • For 1 day you can insulate up to 100 sq.m of surface.
  • It does not require complex preparatory work - it is enough to clean the wall of dust, if necessary - to putty.
  • Heat costs are reduced by 25-30%.
  • Thermal insulation does not change the external appearance of the facade, the work does not need to be coordinated with technical supervision.
  • The total cost of works is lower by 30-40%.Than when you heat roll or panel materials.

Cons

  • The product is sensitive to storage and transport conditions, has a short shelf life.
  • High enough price.
  • Manufacturers do not provide accurate data on thermal conductivity and do not provide methods for calculating them.
  • For qualitative warming of the house in the middle strip, a coating of 10-12 layers may be required.
  • The heat consumption is higher than indicated in the manufacturer's instructions.

Insulation grades: distinctive qualities and prices

Several brands of liquid heaters are offered in the Russian market.

  • Corund is the sales leader. Distinctive features: ultra-thin coating layer - less than 1 mm, high adhesion and resistance to external influences. High quality and popularity are accompanied by a high price - from 375 to 550 rubles per liter.
  • Akterm is highly heat-efficient. A 1 mm thick layer is equivalent to 5 cm of mineral wool. This thermal insulation can be operated from -60 to +600 C. The warranty period is 15 years. Available in several versions: Standard on a water basis, Nord on a nitrobase( can be applied up to -30 C), vapor-permeable Facade for wooden and brick walls, Anticorrosive for metal structures. Produced in buckets of 10 and 20 liters, the price is 320 rubles per liter, in banks of 1, 2, 5 liters - the price of 400 rubles per liter.
  • AstraTech - the coating has a fine-pore structure, has an anti-corrosive effect, is environmentally friendly. Service life is more than 30 years. Depending on the packaging, the price per liter of heat color varies from 400 to 500 rubles.
  • The thermo-insulation effect declared by the manufacturer of Teplomette is equal to 5 cm of mineral wool and 2.5 cm of polystyrene foam. It is easily tinted, can be applied at a temperature of -20 ° C. Environmental safety is confirmed by the appropriate certificates.

In addition to these funds, there are Isollat, Teplosil, Re-Term and others.

How to use

Preliminary, the wall or the treated surface is cleaned of dirt and dust, and peeled off paint or plaster. Metallic surfaces, strongly damaged by corrosion, are treated with a rust-based converter based on orthophosphoric acid. To apply heat, a wide brush, roller or spray gun is used. The liquid insulation is diluted to the density of sour cream with water, the higher the surface temperature, the more liquid the agent can be. The surface is covered in the same way as with ordinary paint.

The liquid thermal insulation agent is fully polymerized per day. The consumption is about 1 liter per 1 sq.m.on 1 layer. It is necessary, at least, 5-6 layers. The more the number of layers, the more effective the material helps to maintain heat. On the heater can be applied decorative coatings, for example, plaster.

To warm a house with liquid material is expensive and not as simple as advertising assures. But it is already obvious that the future is for the liquid heaters. If you want to paint the house, then such "colors" will give it not only aesthetic appearance, but also give an additional couple of degrees of heat to its inhabitants.
