We continue to talk about self-made electrical appliances and our new master classes touched electric heaters. In fact, it is not difficult even for an inexperienced electrician to assemble a simple heating element in the home. It is only necessary to have available tools at hand and a scheme, according to which assembly is to be carried out. Next we will bring to your attention some interesting ideas with photos and video examples that are available to show how to make a heater for your own home, garage and even a car!

electric oven Idea # 1 -Compact model for local heating

The easiest way to make an electric heater is this one. First, prepare the following materials:

  • 2 identical rectangular glass, with an area of about 25 cm2 each( for example, 4 * 6 cm);
  • piece of aluminum foil, the width of which is not more than the width of the glass;
  • cable for connecting an electric heater( copper, two-wire, with a plug);
  • paraffin candle;
  • epoxy adhesive;
  • sharp scissors;
  • pliers;
  • wooden bar;
  • sealant;
  • several ear wands;
  • is a clean cloth.

Materials for the manufacture of the device

As you can see, the materials for assembling a self-made electric heater are not at all scarce, and most importantly - everyone can be at hand. So, you can make a small electric heater yourself using the following step-by-step instructions:

  1. Carefully wipe the glass with a cloth from dirt and dust.
  2. Use a pair of pliers to carefully take the edge of the glass and burn one side of the candle. The soot must evenly cover the entire surface. Similarly, one side of the second glass must be burned. To deposit better on the surface, it is recommended to cool the glass before assembling the electric heater.
  3. After the glass preforms have cooled, carefully clean the edges no more than 5 mm around the entire perimeter with the help of ear poles.
  4. Cut out two strips of foil, width exactly matching the width of the smoky area on the glass.
  5. Apply glue to the glass on the entire burnt surface( it is electrically conductive).
  6. Place the pieces of foil, as shown in the photo below. Then apply glue on the second half and connect them. Heating element design
  7. Then seal all connection points.
  8. Use a self-test tester to measure the resistance of a self-made heater. After that, calculate its power, using the formula: P = I2 * R.About how to use a multimeter, we told in the relevant article. If the power does not exceed the allowable values, proceed to the completion of the assembly. If the power is too high, you need to re-heat the heating element - make the layer of carbon deposit thicker( resistance becomes less).
  9. Glue the ends of the foil to one side.
  10. Make a stand out of the bar by installing on it the pads connected to the power cord. A small self-made electric heater photo

With this technology, you can make an electric mini heater yourself. The maximum temperature of heating will be about 40o, which is quite enough for local heating. However, for heating the room this kind of homemade will, of course, not be enough, so below we will provide more efficient options for self-made electric heaters.

Idea number 2 - Mini heater from the can

Another original model of a self-made electric heater, which is suitable for local heating in a garage or room. All you need to build is:

  • bank of coffee;
  • transformer 220/12 Volt;
  • diode bridge;
  • cooler;
  • nichrome wire;
  • textolite, about the same as the diameter of the can;
  • drill with a thin drill;
  • soldering iron;
  • cord for connecting to the network;
  • push-button switch.

This instruction is even simpler and it is possible to make an electric heater from the can with your own hands in 1-2 hours. To start with a textolite, you need to remove the foil and cut the middle in it, as shown in the photo below:

Frame made of PCB

After that, using a drill, you need to make holes on the diagonal. By the way, for this you can make a homemade mini drill according to our instructions. In the holes fix the nichrome wire, and then solder the wires.

Installing the spiral Wire connection

We connect a transformer, a diode bridge, a cooler, a nichrome wire and a switch into one circuit.

Connection of circuit elements

We mount the fan in the jar using glue, then fix the textolite as shown in the photo:

Mounting the heating element

Put all the elements of the homemade electric heater in the jar, drill holes in the cover and check the operation of the device! The result of the assembly

Idea # 3 - Economical infrared device

Here we go to more powerful electric heaters that you can easily do yourselfhome conditions. For the manufacture of infrared heater we will need the following materials:

  • 2 sheets of plastic, the area of each 1 m2;
  • graphite powder, ground to a fraction of flour;
  • epoxy adhesive;
  • two copper terminals;
  • cord with plug for connection to 220 volts.

So, you can make an indoor infrared heater yourself using the following instructions:

  1. Mix graphite with epoxy glue in a ratio of 1 to 1.
  2. Apply the finished conductive mixture to one side of the plastic in a zigzag as shown in the diagram: Diagram of a home-made infrared electric heater
  3. Stick the second sheet on top andWait until the glue dries.
  4. Attach the terminals on both sides of the electric heater.
  5. Connect the cord to the terminals and proceed to the self-check.

Appearance

By the way, in order to make the structure more durable, it is recommended to place the infrared heater in a wooden frame, which can also be made by hand. Do not forget to check the resistance of the device and calculate the power before connecting!

Idea # 4 - Oil device

Another model of the device, which is recommended to collect for heating the garage or other outbuildings in the country. All you need is an old battery, a tubular heater, oil and cork. It will also require a welding machine, welding skills and some spare time. The photo below shows one of the options for a self-made oil heater.

Below left is a tubular heater, at the top there is a plug for draining / filling the oil. Simple construction of the electric heater, which will be enough to heat a small room.

Idea number 5 - Car electric oven

Well, the last version of the self-made heater - a device that operates from 12 volts, which can be used to heat the cabin of your own car. For assembly you will need the following materials:

  • old power supply unit from the computer;
  • nichrome wire;
  • residues from floor tiles;
  • fasteners: bolts, corners, plates.

It's not that hard to make an electric heater for a car. It is recommended to review the assembly process in the master class in the example photos:

The disadvantage of this heater is an increased risk of fire in the car, becausenichrome wire is practically not protected. In addition, you need to correctly calculate the power of the device, so as not to disable the wiring of the car.

That's all the ideas for assembling a self-made electric heater. As you can see, a simple electrical appliance can easily be made from various materials at hand, it would be a wish. If you liked the master classes, share the recording with your friends so that they also know how to make a heater with their own hands for a house, a garage or a car!
