Before work it is necessary to make a drawing of a workbench with the sizes for convenience of assemblage.

Step-by-step instruction for manufacturing a workbench

For the production of the upper frame, you need to cut the boards based on the required workbench size( see photo).

Using self-tapping screws, fasten 2 long and 2 short boards so that a rectangular frame is obtained. Using a tape measure, mark the distance to the middle of the frame, and perpendicularly, between the two long boards fix the remaining short board, attaching it with screws from both ends.

For manufacturing the legs of the workbench you need to saw off 6 equal bars. From the inside of the received base in each corner of the frame, fix one leg with bolts, washers and nuts( see the diagram of the workbench).

For the rigidity of the structure it is necessary to put additional boards, which will also serve as the basis for the lower shelf. For this you need to saw 4 boards.

Tape measure equal distance from each foot of 30 cm, fix the board to the rear of the structure to 3 legs, and fix the board from the front to the board between the extreme and middle leg, at the point where the future shelf is planned.

The remaining two boards must be fixed to the legs, at the same level as the shelves.

From one or several sheets of plywood or OSB using the hacksaw or electric jig saw cut the necessary cuts. We fix them to the top of the bench flush with the help of self-tapping screws. In addition, a sheet of hardboard can be fixed from above.it can easily be changed to a new one if the old one is badly worn out. Under the same scheme, the lower shelf is also made. Roulette measures the distance between the extreme and middle legs of the workbench, according to this dimension, a sheet of material is cut and fixed on the base.

When attaching legs or crossbars, use a square to obtain an equal distance between the parts of the structure. With the help of a level, in the place of installation, it is necessary to check whether the workbench made by hand is evenly worth it. In the case of a slope, it must be aligned by means of a stand under the legs of a wooden splinter.

Wood workbench can be covered with a special protective compound. In his left half next to the shelf, as in the photo, you can put a tool box in the niche.
