Lane on a dry mix
There are two ways to lay a paving slab: on a dry mix and on a solution from cement. The easiest way to lay paving slabs is the first option. Consider how it is implemented. As a mixture for laying, you can use a dry mix or sand with cement. A mixture of sand and cement is prepared in a ratio of one to four and just before the installation begins. Basically, the layer is made three centimeters thick.
If the soil is wet and not stable, then the layer can be increased, but less than three centimeters do not be recommended. The tile is placed with a constant level control using the level. In the event that any "brick" protrudes or fails, respectively, a dry mix is added or poured out. Important! All tiles should be on the same level, otherwise they will quickly fall out of their seats.
After finishing the work, the entire surface is covered with sand and is rammed so that the mixture is filled in all the seams. Surplus sand is swept off the surface, and the finished area is washed with water. If necessary, the procedure is repeated. Before you can start walking on the walkway, you need to let it settle and secrete for a few days.
Application of cement mortar
The second way of laying is done on cement mortar. To do this, you can use cement grade M 100 and mix it with sand in a ratio of one to four. It is filled in two centimeters thick. It should be noted that this method is often used only for laying on a concrete foundation, that is, on a platform for a car, a blind area around the house and so on. Let's consider the basic moments of work directly with the tile:
- The fitting of the presented decor elements must be carried out exclusively with a hammer with a rubber hammer;
- If it is necessary to cut a piece from a tile, then only a Bulgarian is used, in no case do the chipping with a hammer;
- And lastly: it is not necessary to excessively zealously during shrinkage of the element, since the "brick" can split. The best way out in this situation will be to clean up the excess mixture under the decor element.
At no more than 0.5 square meters of floor space is poured in, and the tiles are immediately laid on it. After installing the entire tile, the surface is checked with a level. If there are any protrusions, depressions or distortions, then the "bricks" get better. The solution dries for at least three hours, and it is possible to start the run only after three days. In order to understand the process and ways of laying paving slabs, the video can be used as a training.
Note! Doing a path on wet mortar is possible not only on a concrete foundation. If you do this on the ground, you will have to build a good and solid foundation.
Methods of laying paving slabs - preparation of the base
In order to qualitatively make the path, you need to properly prepare the base for the paving slab, it will not give the path proseness and will make it durable. The path is a "sandwich" made of several alternately laid layers:
- The bottom layer is 15 centimeters of rubble;
- Next comes 10 centimeters of sand;
- Geotextile is laid between rubble and sand.
Digging a profile under the track, you need to calculate its depth correctly in order to use all materials intelligently. If the track is laid along the developed area, its depth will be equal to: 15 cm of crushed stone + 10 cm of sand + 3 cm of dry mixture + 7 cm of tile = 35 cm. If this is done on an undeveloped site, the level of the future lawn is also taken into account. Therefore, another 15-20 cm of lawn is added to 35 cm, total will be 50-55 cm.
When you make the base under the paving slab, one square meter of the path is: in the first case, 0.35 cubic meters of excavated soil, in the second case 0.2 cubic meters. Therefore, it is necessary to think in advance what to do with it. It can be exported, but this will require additional monetary costs. It is best to use this primer to plan the terrain or fill the pits.
Note! Preparing the foundation for the paving slab is one of the most important stages of the whole work, so it is not recommended to neglect it.
