How to make marble from concrete?

Characteristics of artificial marble from concrete

When a marble of concrete is produced, the technology consists in the preparation of a material whose surface is machined by grinding machines. This makes it possible to open the top layer and display a layer of marble structure.

This marble has many advantages:

  • High performance in terms of physical and mechanical properties;
  • non-waste production;
  • eco-friendly material;
  • does not require additional processing;
  • has a glossy surface, like a polished natural stone;
  • is cheaper than natural marble in 8-10 times.

In addition, it does not emit harmful impurities when heated, as plastic does. As for natural marble, compared to it, the concrete product has the greatest strength. If you compare this marble with granite, then the latter has increased radiation.

We prepare our small production

This material is very popular due to the manufacture of balusters, balustrades and other elements. In addition, from it you can create waterfalls, arches, vases, niches, fireplaces, and also embody the most unexpected and bold ideas of designers. To date, concrete for marble can not only buy a ready made by the factory technology, but also prepare yourself. It will take a small area for work and a little patience. The process is not much different from, for example, cooking.

Prepared in this way, the material can be used to decorate and revet the house. By the way, the surface of such marble is not porous, so the spilled liquid is not absorbed. This material is today called the material of the XXI century. To work, you need to buy cement, river sand, polyurethane matrix, plasticizer, polyethylene film, mixer, filler( color, pebbles), dye and prepare water.

Step-by-step instruction for the preparation of marble from concrete

So, we will start making marble with our own hands. We take a special polyurethane mold for the product, which was prepared in advance. Now you need to make a mixture. To do this, mix 2 parts of river sand and 1 part of cement. Add the filler to the resulting composition. Particles of pebbles will give the future stone a special flavor.

Then connect the resulting solution with the dye in a volume of 1% of the mass of the cement. Thus, the mixture will get the look of marble. It forms spots, streaks and points of other shades and colors. The finished product will look natural if the dye is distributed evenly. You can experiment and use several colors or shades of dye.

Then the mixture needs to be poured in water, first 80% of its total volume, which is 0.2 parts. Then add the plasticizer, 1% of the cement mass, and gently mix the mixture. After 30 seconds, when the solution becomes plastic and "floats", pour the last 20% of water.
