What is a fiberboard?
Compressed chopped wood, chip residues, called fiberboard - a material often used not only in the furniture industry, but also in the design of premises, construction and finishing. Dense boards are also used as a soundproof material.
In some cases, manufacturers add paraffin to the pressed wood, which provides excellent water repellency, antiseptics that reliably protect the tree from the formation of bacteria and insects, as well as all kinds of synthetic resins that make the material incredibly durable.
The fibreboard consists of pretreated materials, currently the producers try to add chemical impurities to the composition in order to achieve the desired quality, density and pre-treat the material, protect it from moisture, high temperatures and chemical attack.
The main characteristics of the
fiberboard Currently, it is possible to meet sheets of fiberboard of various thicknesses, from 2.5 millimeters to 4 centimeters. Such a dispersion is done so that each builder, the buyer could find a material suitable for a particular type of work. If it is a decorative lining, you can use thin sheets, but if the fiberboard is used as a soundproof material, you can take a thicker sheet.
All materials are divided into 5 large groups: super-hard, solid, semi-solid, as well as insulation-finishing and insulating. Plates of increased density are often used for finishing the floor, they are not porous, practically do not pass through the moisture due to the addition of paraffin. The remaining options can be used for the design and manufacture of doors, furniture, walling.

How to make an arch from a fiberboard yourself?
The first step is to prepare the surface, for this it is recommended to perform a quality dismantling of the door and slopes. After the walls are ready for the subsequent repair, you need to take care of buying the material. It is best to work with aluminum profiles, which will be fixed directly to the wall, and small parts cut from the fiberboard.
In the process of work, you may need a construction knife, electric jigsaw and an ordinary hacksaw. First of all, you need to make measurements and draw up a work plan, a diagram with the necessary parameters. This is how you can find out how much material will be spent on creating the arch. The width of the opening is measured, it is deposited on a sheet of fiberboard, after which the axis is carried out - this will be the tip of the arch.
Based on the arch, aluminum profiles are cut, at first only the straight part is screwed to the walls. Directly above the opening of the arch should remain material, the arch, whose top rests against the ceiling, is very difficult to fix. Thus, in the doorway remains a fixed sheet of fiberboard with a cut out semicircle.
The very arch from the fiberboard will look even better, if during the repair work to protect its surface with a special construction tape. The second part of the arch is fastened on the other side of the opening, after which semi-circular guides are cut out.
For this purpose, special cuts are made on the aluminum strip - evenly at the same distance, and gently bend to form an arc. Two finished structures are fixed on both sides on the fiberboard, after which iron strips are fixed on the sheet. The space inside the arch remains hollow, and for the decoration of the inner side the cut pieces of the fiberboard are taken. Do not take a few details, otherwise the arch will be too "triangular".
