Properties of rubber tiles

Sidewalk tiles made of rubber chips look nice and soft to the touch. The rough surface has an excellent grip on the shoes, which prevents it from sliding. Thanks to the elasticity of the coating, the ice crust, which forms in the winter, easily cleaves itself.

Also, the tile has good noise-damping and damping properties. The material from which this tile is made is characterized by frost resistance, so it does not crack or stain in winter at low temperatures. In addition, it has a wide palette of colors, in which everyone will find a color to their liking.

Sidewalk tile made of rubber is resistant to stretching, deformation, curvature, fractures, so it is convenient to transport it. In addition, it does not form cracks and does not sag. Its operation life is long enough.

From the above, the following advantages can be distinguished:

  • Durability - the service life is not limited;
  • Does not crack - good cushioning of the rubber backing;
  • Does not cause dust and does not accumulate dirt;
  • Repairability - easy replacement of individual tiles;
  • No special care required - thanks to its composition it does not need to be painted;
  • Non-slip - short drying time after rain.

Application of rubber paving tiles

Paving slabs are rubberized - universal coating. With the help of it, you can design both garden paths and entire areas in an original way. Most often it is used to equip sports and playgrounds. Such coatings are simply irreplaceable in the locations of children.

More rubber tiles are used to cover pedestrian areas in parks. The necessary material is also in the arrangement of sites near swimming pools, reservoirs and other objects where there is high humidity. The water does not accumulate on the tile, as it passes water through itself. In addition, it can be laid on the floor in the garage or in premises with animals, for example, in stables or barns.

Tips for laying and operating tiles

Tiles must always be laid on a flat surface. The basis can be asphalt, concrete screed or compacted soil. It is desirable that the surface be slightly inclined so that rainwater can drain without problems.

If the plate has a thickness of less than 30 mm, then it should be placed on a hard surface, and for elements larger than 30 mm any base, only level, is suitable. It is easily cut with a jigsaw or a knife. Due to this, it can be customized to any shape and size.

For fixing the tile, it is better to use rubber-bitumen mastic or polyurethane glue. Stacking can be done in offset or even rows. Some types do not require the use of pins, since they have a form that creates a locking connection.

Rubber tiles do not need special care. This coating is wear-resistant, shockproof and elastic. To remove dirt, you just need to pour it over with water. If there are strong contaminants, they should be softened with soap and warm water, using a soft brush, then rinse with a clean water jet.

You can wash it under great pressure, but direct exposure to water on the tile should be avoided. The distance from the hose to the surface must be at least 300 mm, and the water is not warmer than 80 ° C.
