The towel lifter is a very useful thing in the bathroom, because it is used not only for drying towels, but also for creating a favorable indoor microclimate, which prevents the appearance of fungus and dampness.

To install this appliance, you can use the plumbing services or do it yourself. The second option is preferable, because it allows you to save a little. Although it is desirable to familiarize yourself with the installation rules, regardless of the chosen option, in order not only to make everything right, but also to supervise the installation process.

Step 1. Choose the connection method

The towel rails can be water and electric. The former are more common, so first let's talk about them. There are two possible ways of connecting:

• to the heating system;
• to the hot water system.

The second method is usually chosen, because to maintain optimum humidity and room temperature, heating should occur all year round. It is better not to connect to heating, because hot in that case will be exclusively for the time of the heating season. Moreover, there may be a problem with the replacement of the device in the winter - it is unlikely that the Housing Committee will be allowed to cut into the heating main( there will be a risk of freezing the entire riser).

Please note! If you plan to replace the old Soviet-made towel rails, you should choose a model with a similar diameter, which provides a lower connection. But if the pipeline is recessed into the walls, and only exits remain from the outside, then the device with side-type connection is quite suitable.

In addition, when connecting the heated towel rail to the recessed pipes, special care should be taken to isolate the connections, since it will be very difficult to eliminate the leak in this case.

heated towel rail. In most cases, this is a replacement, so first we dismantle the old appliance. To do this, perform the following actions.

Step 1. We overlap the hot water supply to the pipe to which the heated towel rail is connected. To this end, we can contact the housing office or the responsible person( for example, the chairman of the cooperative), because hot water can not be turned off without permission. We overlap the corresponding valve.

Step 3. Remove the old device from the brackets.

If it is a question of replacing the old heated towel rail, then this step can be skipped, as it will be necessary to focus on the already available wiring. But for the device, installed for the first time, we measure its center distance for piping.

First we perform the marking( as shown in the image below), then we use the "bulgark" or shtroborezi. After that, we install two ball valves, treating the joints with a special paste or wrapping. Next, an American winds flax or thread, winding on a ball valve. After this, you can proceed with soldering( for more details, see the procedure for installing polypropylene pipes).

Please note! In this case, the dimensions are very important, so we leave 1.5 cm on each side.

The instrument is then connected to the mains. Now back to the heated towel rail with a side connection.

Step 3. Set the bypass( jumper)

The bypass is a piece of pipe equipped with special fasteners, a kind of wand-rescue wand in case of unforeseen circumstances. This is a jumper in front of the heated towel rail, which is installed on the riser( see the connection diagram below).

Pay attention! On the bypass, we set three valves: one for stopping the circulation of water in the device, the other two cut into the points of connection of the device with the pipeline. We use only pipes made of stainless steel!

Bypass installation will allow not to block the water supply throughout the house during repair, but only to stop the water supply to the device. To remove air from the main line, we install on the jumper one more ball valve , due to which the water will circulate freely both in the whole system and in the coil in particular.

Step 4. Installation and connection of the

Step 1. First fix the brackets for fixing the heated towel rail on the wall. First, we fasten the brackets to the coil( they often come complete, but in the extreme case they can be purchased separately) and attach it to the place of future placement. Using a pencil, make a hole. It is advisable to use the building level to level the coil horizontally.

Step 2. Make holes in the electric drill. If the wall is covered with tiles, then we apply a special tile drill bit.

Step 3. In the holes drilled we fix the plastic dowels, apply the coil to the wall, re-check the horizontal and fix the device with screws using a screwdriver.

Please note! The distance between the facing surface and the axis of the device is clearly regulated and depends only on the diameter of the pipeline. The distance should be:

• 3.5 cm with a diameter of less than 2.3 cm;
• 5,5 cm with a diameter of 2,3-5 cm.

Step 4. We connect the fixed towel rail to the riser, connect it to the bypass valves with special fittings. Tighten the connections carefully, so as not to accidentally damage the thread. Each thread is sealed with linen wrap for tightness.

Please note! In the coil, the water must be moved from the top to the bottom, for this reason, we connect the feeder to the upper bell.

Step 5. After installation and connection, we check the tightness of the joints - we make sure that there are no drops or leaks at the seams. Then smoothly open the valves to gradually fill the device( it is smooth, otherwise a hydraulic shock may occur).

According to experts, the optimal option for hot water supply are PP pipes with an aluminum reinforcing layer( they are also called pipe staffs).Such products have a low exponent of thermal expansion, which is why they are as close to metal as possible.

There is another option - PP pipes with reinforcing fiber.
