The fact is that modern garlands are arranged in such a way that all single-color lamps are connected in series and if any one burns out, the light goes out on the entire electrical branch. To repair the breakdown, it is recommended to act as a good old textbook advises: cut the garland in half and call both areas. Then, proceed in the same way with the idle section: cut 2 and again check and so on until the end, as shown in the diagram.

To quickly fix the garland yourself, you can take the tester and attach the needles instead of the styli. The old Soviet garlands on the Christmas tree( without a box) are more convenient in this respect, becausein them all the lamps are screwed into the cartridges, and to determine which light bulb does not work without a soldering iron and an ohmmeter by an exception method - by taking a working light source and alternately screwing it into all the cartridges. This problem most often occurs if the house has cats or dogs that are playing gnawing wiring. In this case, it is necessary to find the place of damage, to twist the current-carrying veins and isolate them. It will not prevent after this to protect the wires from pets.

If you have a LED garland that does not shine, and you are convinced that it's not the LEDs, you already need to look at the control unit and the power cord. First, check the integrity of the cord, it may be interrupted or the contact on the connection to the microcircuit breaks. After that, check how all the connections to the board are soldered. For example, in the photo below one of the wires is burnt out. If everything is working, then the board is burned out. You can, of course, buy a new garland, if this one was cheap Chinese, but if there is a desire to repair the product, now we will tell you how to do it.
Instead of a standing control unit, you can use a starter from a fluorescent lamp at 127 or 220 volts( the difference is only in the speed of flashing light bulbs).First, check how the LEDs are connected. If it turns out that the extreme elements of the groups are interconnected by the anodes, you will have to redo the circuit and connect the LEDs with cathodes. This is due to the fact that for normal operation of the starter, the voltage to the anode must be fed through a 5-watt resistor with a resistance of 15-20 kΩ.In addition, the circuit will have to include more diodes, as shown in the diagram below. Diodes are needed in order to pass through the reverse current of the network. That's how you can remake and thereby repair the LED garland with your own hands at home.
As you can see, we'll have to work to repair the product, so if the electric cigar is Chinese, it's better not to waste time and buy a new one. By the way, it is recommended to change it for a starter even if the garland does not blink or switch modes and the reason for this is the controller.
