Noiseless sewerage - we are looking for a way to live in silence

We live in a world of noise

The noise haunts us in everyday life: on the streets, at work, at home. In the apartment we are surrounded by sounds from working electrical appliances, from water disposal systems and water supply. Noise usually occurs due to fluid flows that collide with the surface of the tube from the inside and thus lead to its oscillations. These vibrations spread through the building structures through the fastening elements and directly through the air further into the environment. An exit in the created situation can be:

  • use of noise isolation means at installation of sewer systems from usual materials;
  • application of special thick-walled pipes and fittings( noiseless sewerage);
  • use for the installation of flexible fastening systems.

Solutions for owners of noisy communications

The most trivial solution to this problem is noise insulation of the sewage system .To achieve the desired effect, the pipes are wrapped with a soft insulation and are removed to previously prepared technical niches. The disadvantages of this option are an increase in the final cost of the work due to the use of additional insulating materials, and the problem of propagation through the fasteners is not solved.

Application of innovative thick-walled pipes made of polypropylene, with the addition of special mineral additives, with a large molecular weight when installing the sewer system, allows to achieve the effect of vibration damping in the wall of the pipe itself, without transferring vibrations to the fastening systems. The only drawback of this solution is the high cost.

Another option to reduce noise when using a sewer system is the use of special fasteners of a special design. Such clamps are quite expensive, and their installation requires professional skills, becausethe slightest violation during installation negates the entire noise-absorbing system.

In order to ensure that the noise-damping canal works as efficiently as possible, it is necessary to properly mount it and install it. For this, the necessary dimensions are calculated and the required parts of the pipe are cut off. For cutting, use a regular hacksaw. After sawing off the required piece, its edges are cleaned with a file at an angle of 150˚.

This angle cut allows you to avoid damage to the O-ring and thus provides easy installation of the system. At the same time, the fittings are not shortened.

Silent sewerage - act extremely carefully

Before starting the installation, make sure that the sealing ring is correctly positioned and that the edge of the pipe is correct, clean the inner side of the socket, the O-ring and the pointed edge from dirt. After that, apply silicone grease to the smooth edge of the pipe to be mounted or the fittings, which must be pushed into the socket until it stops and mark the place of contact.

Then the tube extends from there approximately 10 mm and remains so for fixation. This gap( 10 mm) is necessary to compensate for possible changes in the length of the pipe that may occur due to the temperature influence. This avoids warping of the system and the occurrence of internal stresses. The smooth end of the molded part can be left in the state pushed to the stop.

The fixing clamp performs a locking function in the piping system, therefore, it must be installed directly under the clutch securing each section of the system to prevent unnecessary slipping during installation. During installation, the pitch between the clamps is:

  • for a horizontal pipeline - 10 diameters of the pipe used;
  • for the riser is about 20 cm.

The distance between the wall and the pipe to be mounted must be at least 4 mm.

These communications must be laid in such a way that they are completely free of stress. For this, the is provided with a floating and rigid mount. The rigid attachment itself does not allow the pipe to move, keeping it in all directions. As it is usually used noise-proof clamps, equipped with a rubber sealing ring.

The installation of a floating attachment gives the pipe longitudinal mobility. For a floating attachment, clamps are used with or without a rubber band. At the same time, the clamps themselves do not tighten tightly, so as not to interfere with the longitudinal mobility of the sewage pipeline. Secure the entire sewerage system so that it does not change its position during operation.

When laying the pipeline in the wall, the receiving grooves must be made in such a way that there is no internal stress anywhere. When installing the pipeline into the grooves, wind them with a soft material( glass wool, mineral fiber), and only then plaster the grooves themselves. When laying the pipeline through the floors, it is essential to perform its sound and waterproofing.
