Decorative box for heating pipes - how can it be?

We will proceed from the fact that almost the most popular finishing material for almost two decades now is drywall. It is easy to process, inexpensive and fits perfectly into the design of any room, and in this situation it will be very useful. And here we will talk in detail about how to close the heating pipes with plasterboard.

But we will remember that this is by far not the only way to accomplish the task set by us, because in certain situations plastic boxes for heating pipes may well be a better solution than gypsum plasterboard.

And, finally, why not try to turn a flaw into a virtue? Existing or made decorative linings for heating pipes, with a certain amount of imagination, will easily give them the appearance of a blossoming tree or spear in the hand of an antique figure.

How to close heating pipes with gypsum board - do the installation yourself

Let's start with drywall. If the box will be in the bathroom, then you should buy a specially designed for these purposes, moisture-resistant plasterboard, which is usually green. When installing, you should remember about free access to the valves, so that if necessary, they can be blocked. To do this, we will not forget in the right places of the box to make small doors.

Before starting work, we reserve:

  • galvanized profile for gypsum board;
  • self-tapping screws;
  • screwdriver;
  • plasterboard;
  • putty;
  • plinth;
  • water-based paint in the tone of the walls.

Let's start with the installation of the frame from the profile. To the floor, according to the outlines of the contour of the future box around the pipes, the guides from the galvanized profile UD-27 are screwed. In the upper part of the box, on the ceiling, three more guides are attached in a similar way.

Then the corners of these guides vertically insert profiles CD-60 and connect with them screws. Thus, a rigid frame of the box is made, to which the sheets of gypsum board cut out for size are screwed.

The joints of the sheets and the places of their joining to the wall are processed with a sickle, after which the whole box is shpatlyuetsya. Depending on the surrounding interior, the box can be painted, tiled or wallpapered. Places of fitting the structure to the wall and to the floor are masked with decorative skirting boards.

Plastic ducts for heating pipes and other ways of decorating communications

A plastic box is constructed in approximately the same way. These wall panels are well used in kitchens, in bathrooms, in corridors and on objects of economic purpose. Plastic material lacks warmth and individuality, and therefore it is not very good for use in rest rooms, bedrooms and living rooms.

But, as we have already said, besides the boxes there are other ways of correcting the broken pipe design. In this case, special hiding places are not constructed for the pipes, but on the contrary, they themselves, designed accordingly, act as interior details.

Especially good results are given by such method in the kitchen or in the children's room.

Having made decorative lining for pipes, it is easy to give them the appearance of a tree trunk overgrown with moss and, as a continuation of the idea, to draw branches on the wall with foliage. The scope for fantasy is unlimited, you can, say, "plant" a butterfly on the pipe, and the pipe itself is represented in the form of a flower's leg.
