Types of safety valves
- Fuse of a coupling type made of brass - the valve on both sides contains a thread, the inlet is provided with a special gasket made of ethylene-propylene rubber, then a spring is applied to the rod, which is heated at a certain pressure in the pipe, and thereby opens the passage. Because of its simple design, the safety valve is very affordable, while having a high durability.
- Pressure-relief mechanisms - circulating pumps are usually installed in front of them;consist of a brass body, a heat-resistant plastic rod disc, a stream of water presses on which, after which the spring is compressed from the stainless steel, which opens the valve. Such an armature can withstand up to 120 degrees and effectively cope with its function
- . A safety relief valve is also installed on water heaters of storage type. The principle of operation of this device is similar to the previous version, differs only in that it is assumed that the water discharge is effected by shifting the lever that moves the rod. For safe operation of electric boilers, a bypass valve is vital.
Check valves
Non-return valve - used most often in sewer networks to prevent the generation of excessive pressure, which creates a reverse flow. Typically, such valves are effective with a sharp increase in precipitation - floods, downpours, melting snow, as well as the ingress of soil water into communal drainage.
These valves work according to the following scheme: a disc gate when exposed to a flow of matter allows drains to pass along it, and when the pressure on the barrier decreases, water flow stops, thereby eliminating the movement of the substance in the opposite direction. Most often, a non-return valve is installed in the heating systems of industrial facilities, as well as in centralized boiler rooms.
Three-way valves
The three-way valve is mounted on heating systems, its design, as well as the features of the operation are somewhat different from previous mechanisms. In heating circuits, such devices are installed to reduce the temperature of the heat carrier in heating networks with an appropriate temperature regime. Such a mixing unit can be regulated manually or fully automated - equipped with a servo drive.
The design of the three-way valve consists of an inlet and two discharge ports, the flow of which is controlled by a damper. Depending on its type, such cranes are divided:
- Ball
- Rod
To provide the necessary operating temperature for low-temperature heating systems( warm floor), it is advisable to install devices that not only act as fuses and regulate the supply, but also reduce the temperature of the coolantby mixing it with cooled water from the return flow.
To ensure the automatic functioning of the underfloor heating system, which the human hand does not actually touch during operation, it is worthwhile to equip the three-way valve with an electric regulating mechanism - the servo drive, and the heated room - with a thermostat. Note that the installation of this set of devices is an expensive pleasure, the efficiency of which, however, is absolutely consistent with its cost.
